Deer is standing 33 steps from base of tree.
The hunter is 25ft up in that tree.
Which pin do you use?

Deer is standing 33 steps from base of tree.
If so, the answer is 30yd pin

the distance you should use is the "A" distance. Doesnt matter if you are in a ground blind or 40' up in a climber

The 30 yd. pin.
Had cost me one of the biggest bucks I ever saw. Really. Didn't see that deer again for another month on the back of someone else's 4wheeler. Very easy score of 170+.

I would use my 30 yard pin. assuming you are not a midget.

How tall are you, your height could be the difference in the pin selection...
Does your sight have enough pins?

this is one of the main reasons i advocate the use of single pin. Less confusing in my opinion on shots 30 yards and in. granted, i dont have shots i would take over 35 yards. its more of a feel thing that you take to the field with you from practicing.

For real.
I have two. I shoot very flat from 20 yards back in(main pin), then I have a 30 yard pin. Like other have posted I would not shoot further than 35 yards.

Just get a pendulumn sight only one pin to deal with.

I don't understand the question. Obviously you use the pin that's closest to the distance it is from you. Then you aim high or low to compensate for the extra +3 yards or -2 yards, or whatever, if you're a perfectionist.

the height you are in a tree is irrelevant in this question

Absolutely correct.
30 yds is 30 yds whether your at ground level or 100 feet up.

I guess ik missing something.
If he sighted from ground and climbs 25' and shoots with 30yd pin he will miss badly
