so they lost close home games to a pretty good LSU team and Manziel.. it happens.
It's hard to go unblemished. A lot of perfect champions benefited from tremendous luck or easy schedules.

What LSU's D did in 2011 with the atrocious offense they had against MUCH better offensive competition than Alabama played is a miracle.
First off, LSU's offense wasn't atrocious in 2011. It wasn't the best ever, but was a top 5 ever LSU offense and for most of the year was dominant save 2 or 3 games.
The problem people have saying Bama was the better team because of 21-0 is the fact remains that despite that game, LSU had a better record and SEC title. Bama won the NC that year, but the fact they couldn't defend their actual home turf against LSU earlier in the season proves they weren't the best hands down.
With everything in their favor they lost. When they had an advantage (more rest, easier overall schedule, and more time to plan for LSU), they won.
That said, this Bama team has nothing on that Nebraska run.

Bama outplayed us in the 9-6 game as well and would have beaten us then had Saban not gone full retard.

It's just tough to take it that seriously considering the dynamics of that era.
What Bama is doing is in the modern era which makes it all the more incredible.

The offense only had a pulse because of the defense. One of the reasons they could even score was because the defense and special teams bailed them out.
See Oregon, West Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas, and Georgia. All of those games might have been losses had the defense/special teams not saved the offense's arse.

Is this unanimously agreed upon that we are in the middle of the greatest dynasty in the history of college football?
Nebraska in the 90's > Bama now.

Alabama has played some of the weakest schedules in their OOC and conference schedules of any SEC team the past 6 years. Let's not act like they played more than one legit top 10 teams outside of the SEC.
2008 - Clemson finished unranked, they lost to Utah.
2009 - Virginia Tech just makes top 10 with 3 losses.
2010 - PSU finished unranked.
2011 - PSU finished unranked, and no SEC CG.
2012 - Michigan was unranked in the coaches poll.
Fact remains Bama has been on an impressive run and has been a great team. They have won 3 NCs, and it has been great. Fact is they haven't played schedules like their opponents have during that time.

No, great runs win their conference and don't back in to Championship Games. So no. Not a great run. Not dominant enough.

I would say yes
I saw this dynasty shite happen back when Bama first hired Saban.
LSU fans back in 07 chose not to believe it though. Board was money back then

which means there is plenty of doubt about it being the GOAT run.

you mean like Bama getting to back arse first into two different BCS title games?

Utah finished 2nd in the AP poll with 16 first place votes. Oh, and they were undefeated.
2008 - Only losses two #1 and #2 in the nation.
2009 - Finished the season beating the #2 and #3 teams in the final AP poll. As well as beating #10 to start to the season. #1 SOS according to Sagarin ratings (LINK )
2010 - #5 SOS according to Sagarin (LINK )
2011 - #1 SOS according to Sagarin (LINK )
2012 - #1 SOS according to Sagarin (LINK )

Again, Bama is benefitting greatly due to the BCS. They don't get a shot at the 2011 title without the BCS. Nebraska didn't have that opportunity in 1996.
Nebraska went undefeated 3 times in 4 years in what was at the time one of the tougher conferences.
They did it playing only 7 non-BCS teams in 5 years from 93-97 with a record of 60-3. To compare, Bama has played 14 of which 4 were FCS schools.
Posted on 10/17/13 at 5:00 pm to Geauxgurt
And if Nebraska had an extra game to schedule back in the 90's, it would be a non-BCS school. Just the way of the world with 12 game schedules.

Get over 2011. If anything, Jan 9th proved it was LSU that didn't deserve to be in that game. That was an embarrassment.
GTFO with this bullshite. We deserved to be there before anyone. What a fricking joke of a fan you are.

Again, how that is possible given LSU's schedule that season shows how big a joke those rankings are.
LSU and Bama faced each other twice including one actual home game for Bama, yet they have a higher rated SOS despite LSU playing a top 3 team, two other top 20 teams that Bama didn't play and the rest of the schedule still in LSU's favor?
Bama won the title that year. It may not have been fair they got to the NC game, but they won it when they did, but to act like those SOS rankings are legit shows how pathetic it is for you trying to justify this as the greatest run ever.

Proof that that ranking means dogshit. LSU's schedule was so much better it isn't even funny.

Point to me where I said this was the greatest run ever.
You did your best to make each of our years look like the easiest schedule known to man and I refuted that with actual numbers and respected links instead of biased opinion.
Is this the best run ever? Hell if I know and hell if I care. I'm enjoying it for what it is and don't give a damn if it's the "best ever".
