Need to find a good place or market where I can find some good Boudin in the New Orleans area that I can bring up to a friend out of state for this weekend. I know all the really good stuff is to the south and west of me but there has to be something in New Orleans/Metairie.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Before everyone jumps down your throat bashing New Orleans boudin, check out Butcher and Cleaver and Co. Both have rice and pork sausage which is boudin in my book.

Sadly, I am unaware of anyone or place in N.O. for Boudin. I remember a call in radio show about 7 yrs ago discussing the same question. I guess there isn't a market for it there..strange though

I've seen boudin made by the Eunice Superette in Dorignacs and Breaux Mart recently.

ETA: probably the only Acadiana boudin you'll find in NOLA supermarkets that I know of.

Gourmet Butcher Block on Belle Chasse Hwy on the Wank. Some of our vendors hook us up at work around Christmas time. It's delicious.

You'd think, but the answer is none. Seriously. I've tried them all because I used it at my restaurant. Drove to Scott every once in a while to stock up.

I don't care for LeBlanc's at all.

And it's not just a case of hey...I haven't found in New Orleans that I like as much. I haven't found any that I like at all.

I tried for a month down there. It does not exist. Even Leblanc's in St. Amant and Jerry Lee's in Central put everything in New Orleans to shame.
