Who has jurisdiction over the sideline?

per Doug Mouton's twitter

Doug Mouton ?@DMoutonWWL 21m Crazy moment.. Covington Police just escorted a referee off the field here at St. Paul's. Ref did not look happy.

Doug Mouton ?@DMoutonWWL 10m Apparently, arguments began with a vocal St. Pauls chain crew led to two referees being arrested.

Doug Mouton ?@DMoutonWWL 9m The referee got into an argument with a Covington Police officer over crowd control, and the argument escalated until the refs were taken.

Doug Mouton ?@DMoutonWWL 7m One of the most usual events you'll see at a high school football game. St.Paul's chain crew argued with bystanders in Mandeville sideline.

Doug Mouton ?@DMoutonWWL 4m Covington Police told referee - we'll handle crowd control.. an argument grew until two refs were taken off in a police car.

Doug Mouton ?@DMoutonWWL 3m Witnesses are filing police reports as the game is back on. St.Paul's 13 / Mandeville 3. Wow.

Sounds like the cops weren't doing there job and got pissy that refs took notice.

That's exactly what happened

Refs were charged with public intimidation

Sounds like some bullshite to me. Armed cops, but refs are intimidating the public

I am not shock that this happened at St.Paul's. A few years ago a group of Ponchatoula students were nearly arrested for cheer too loud. Yes you read that right. The only thing that prevented it was the PHS principal and fans. They finally realized they didn't have the manpower to arrest everyone. For the naysayers, I wouldn't believe it either if I hadn't witnessed it myself.

Unless it was a lot worse than described, sounds like the refs caught some BS charges.

Anyone who has lived in covington in the last 10 years or so knows that this incident is the covington police department in a nutshell.

Now hearing 3 refs
how many are left to officiate the game?

Yeah total overzealous cops. It's not like the ref is going to keep talking to him or sneak away before the game's over, the cop just wanted to embarrass them.
