Some people pulling some serious bank in here 
Sr engineering student full time
~$100 a week selling firewood, cutting grass, doing weekend construction, etc.
Most I've ever made in a year was $14000

Sounds like a young me.
Can't teach work ethic. I cut wood, did yards (shirtless for extra), painted timberlines, worked on a cattle farm, worked in the oil fields a little. Now I'm a doctor and make serious bank even compared to other doc's because I work hard, treat people right and take pride in my work. 
Keep it up and you'll do fine.
