Now I know where I'm going for lunch.

Ever heard the saying, "You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shite?"
Do they or do they not serve steak?

I've never had the chicken salad there. I'm guessing it's not good ?

Never been, but glancing at the web site I must say their wine list is absolutely comical.

It's not a steakhouse or anything like that. Honestly I'm surprised they offer anything more than house white and house red.

I believe it's generally accepted as fact that Crazy Johnnies uses meat tenderizers.
On a filet? Even a relatively cheap one, shouldn't need anything additional to "tenderize" it.

So you enjoy steak enough to eat artificial tenderizers, but are too cheap to go and pay for a nice steak?
All prepared by the top chefs in Fat City, CIA trained of course.

Lot of assuptions here.
You do if you freeze your filets. There product is a cut below what Outback buys.
How the hell could you sell a steak for $10 and make money?

They sell a filet for $10?
All the chain type places have a sirloin option for $10 or less, so apparently there is money to be made doing it.

Video poker ?
The filet is only $10?

I'm not too cheap for anything. I enjoy the product they serve, so occasionally I eat it.

What is the point of this comment? Is cooking a steak to a proper temp now some mythical feat? Do they claim to have the best chefs in the city?

Assumptions about what?
Freezing a naturally tender piece of meat doesn't toughen it. And their normal price now (as reflected online) is 16.95.

Well whether you're suprised or not, they went out of their way to create a wine list and put it on their menu. A sample of said wine list:
quote:
PREMIUM WINES BY THE GLASS:
Ask about our Wine Specials
White Zinfandel $5.00
Chardonnay $5.00
Merlot $5.00
Cabernet Sauvignon $5.00
PREMIUM WINES BY THE BOTTLE:
CHARDONNAY
Kendall-Jackson (California) $26.00
Mirassou (California) $20.00
Beringer (California) $21.00

Place was a Fat City dive bar that decided to start selling cheap steaks.
Now, of course, it's "the only place for steaks."

I guess I should have said fancy or some other modifier.
Again, if you knew anything about the place, you'd realize that list is just fine. Actually, no you won't, since you're you.

Exactly. And of course white zinfandel is a "PREMIUM" wine.

The point is that they're trying to pass themselves off as a steak house when in actually they're just, like Y.A. said, a dive bar that sells cheap steaks. Which there's nothing wrong with that .. but don't try to pretend to be something you're not, Crazy Johnnie's. It's transparent and lame.

I like how you agree with this...

And then chastise them for their lack of knowledge in assembling a wine list. What the hell would you expect?
