No he means the new A5 has the same action as the Benelli SBE.
Browning even said as much.

The new A5 action is a direct clone of the SBEII.

New A5 is nice...but it doesn't have the Comfort Tech system.
Would like to see Browning make a 20ga model.

So my question after returning from the gun store, do I get the Benelli SBE2? Or the new Browning A5?
I love slim grip autoloaders.

It went way over your heads fellas. Browning's Auto 5 was the first inertia driven shotgun

I thought the first one was the remington 11?
Either way, the way the operate is wayyyyy different. The only thing they have in common is that they are operated by recoil.

The beretta is a better gun. The rem is a good gun as well but the beretta is a lot better.
I like my beretta and just got it cleaned by a pro and it is show room nice again. First time the action was cleaned in 9 years. I abuse my guns and the beretta has been a trooper.
My old 870 still kills though fwiw. My new 870 will not cycle cheap low brass though? Is anyone else having issues like that?

Remington is a long way away from the Remington I grew up with.

I've had issues with cheap aluminum base winchester shells in my 870. Nothing else would cycle them either though.

The aluminum a cycle just fine through my SBEII. My dads Maxus won't eject them though.

I got a box that wouldn't run through anything. You could tell they were fricked up.
I try to stay away from the aluminum shite when I can. Rio FTW

I've had great success with Herters select as well. Rio's are great though.

If your round count per year is modest (~ thousand or so), there is no need to shell out $1750 for the A400.
If your planning on putting thousands upon thousands of rounds downrange, the improvements offered by the A400 over the antiquated 1187 are well worth the cost.
This from an 1187, benelli, and beretta owner.

Because the 1187 is a has stamped metal parts and usually w/ rouugh forcing cones etc (so it may pattern like crap), prone to lots of parts breakages (that always seem to happen in the field so bring a backup gun) and it may blow up on you. Berettas are made like older 1100s (machined parts) will fire 100,000s of rounds w/o a failure. Look at the dove/duck operations in S Amer - not many Rems there. You get what you pay for - find a used 391 and they will be $800-1200 (if u need teh 3.5 model) and be happy. Same could be said for Benellis but sometimes inertia guns wont fire low brass loads - need to be broken in more.
Btm line if you dont hunt much, dont mind gun failures get an 1187. If you want to pull the trigger and go bang get a B gun.

Based on my experience of an 1187 to 1187 supermag (3.5" gun that was a POS) to Beretta. I looked at Benellis but they dont fit me well.

I've been to a skeet shoot where a pair of berettas couldn't get more than 3 shots off without locking up. Guns were spotless at the beginning of the day and after about 2 or 3 boxes of shells they were pretty much single shots.
Any auto is prone to having a bad day in my experience.

I have yet to see a failure of a B gun at any of the clubs I have shot at - you see Rem 110s and now a few versa max's but nvr any 1187s. I shoot a cpl of thousand rounds a yr from 391s nvr a prob and I clean them 2X a yr. One trap/skeet shooter that convinced me to get a 391 has shot 100,000s of thousands of rounds w one failure. Some M1s etc but 1187s are falling out of favor. Both my uncle and I had chronic issues w 1187 supermags - they arent in the gun lockers anymore - he got an SBE11 me a 391.

For semis - no question
For O/U, I'm still partial to Citoris. (Call me old fashioned...)
