From those two pictures, he's not an old buck. He is in his prime, most likely. His belly isn't sagging tremendously. He doesn't have any loose skin around his neck, and there is still a distinguishable neck between his head and body. I would put him at either 3.5 or 4.5 years old. He's a heck of a shooter.

Shoot him this year. Deer can lose or gain 20% of antler growth due to drought vs wet weather conditions from year to year. Since most of NLA had a wet spring/early summer, we should have better than average antler growth this year. No guarantee of that happening next year
