I think we can all agree that the Seattle Seahawks are the obvious pick for #1 right now. They are virtually unbeatable at home right now and show no sign of slowing down. However, aside from them, which teams do you think hold a great home field advantage for whatever reason? Make a list of your top teams.

I'll include the Denver Broncos in the discussion. Playing at Mike High is a recipe of disaster. IYAM, they are in the top 5.

The Superdome has to be top 3. That place is LOUD constantly when the other team has the ball.

Seattle but its pointless to mention because everybody already knows about the best homefield and 12th mans power. That being said arrowhead gets close to Seattle in loud factor. Dome stadiums dont count IMO. Thats cheating.

Why is it so blatantly obvious that the Seahawks are 'virtually unbeatable' at home?

I don't like to invest much into home field advantage in the pro's, although, I think it really comes into play when teams have to go from coast to coast and play.

In no particular order.

Chiefs, Seahawks, Saints, Packers, Broncos.

No brainer top 5, order is certainly up for debate.

why is seattle just "right now" If there is a good team in seattle, they are really hard to beat there...and have been for awhile.

after that (in no order)

KC
NOLA
Denver
Oakland
SanFran

Well, if you want to use actual records just going on the last 5 years, it would be:

Patriots 35-5
Falcons 33-7
Ravens 32-8
Packers 32-8
Saints 29-11

Has anybody in here bothered to look up any stats? This article from a couple years ago compared the home win % to away win %, which shows the teams that have the best advantage when playing at home. The top 5 (from 2002 to 2011) are:

Baltimore (35% higher at home)
Arizona (29% higher at home)
Seattle (26% higher at home)
San Francisco (24% higher at home)
Minnesota (24% higher at home)

quote:

But to get a clearer picture, we decided to compare each teams home win % to their, win % as a visitor and their win % overall. This gives us a better sense of home field advantage as we can take into consideration the win rate of the team overall.
