I haven't liked him since he came to my house recruiting my brother in 92 and passed on my dads Gumbo! :)

One guy gets it.
Man, you had to be there. Saturdays in the fall became completely irrelevant, other than what hunting season was open.
It SSSSUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKED knowing we had no chance of winning college football games.
We didn't deserve that.

He literally almost destroyed the program. Averaged 55k fans his last season at home, let that sink in. 20k less than capacity. Dude was a total disaster
Archer was a decent guy and decent coach, he coached pro and cfb for years after LSU let him go. Curley couldn't coach a fricking pee wee team
I'd punch him in the mouth right now if I could![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Best Curley moment was when he was talking our weakness in giving up the big play. Said it was the team's "Achilles Tendon". ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconrotflmao.gif)

On players that had an earring: "you can take that earring, put in a box, and send it home to your momma", a big part of our fanbase bought into his special brand of dumbass.

That's very, very positive

I heard him say the LSU team he inherited was the weakest team (strength) he had ever coached

Joe Dean was the worst thing to ever happen to LSU football, other than the tragedy of Rein's plane crash. Curley was a product of that idiot good old boy network.

Seriously, what an Alabama douchebag.

His call in showsa were awesome... Some guy named "The Bayou Bomber" would light him up on a daily basis... At the end.. every caller basically asked him to resign. He never did. Unlike Dinardo... worked every day he could for his paycheck... BTW- I liked Dinardo 1000x more than Curley.

I am another one who feels nothing 'happy' about Curley Hallman. He was the low point of LSU football in the 40+ years I have been a fan. To think Joe Dean was still thinking of letting him stay on, because Curley told him the program was 'close'. I think Dean finally relented, as he was worried a lynch mob was going to burn them both if Curley wasn't fired. To put it simply, Curley Hallman was an arse and an incompetent coach.

Curly was a paranoid a-hole drunk. Archer let him talent but the guy wouldn't play any upperclassmen his first two years. Thank Gil Brandt for telling Joe dean to hire Curly and not look back.

That dude was the best (and worst at the same time). That guy had to go into a shopping mall or church at some point and try to spray the place with 1500 bullets.

I don't know about that, but I know it was the dumbest coached team.
I remember him choosing to kick off for both the 1st half and the 2nd half one time in a game. I think it was against aTm when we used to play them early in the season.
He was the worst coach ever for LSU football. He recruited fine, but his coaching was atrocious.
The low point of Alabama Football should be in having that long unbeaten unbeaten streak snapped by one of his teams (at their house). It's the only positive I can remember during that time.
