Tidbit on Tony Upchurch

Some might know that he hasn't been playing football very long. He's a basketball star who realized football was a better route for his skills.
His high school coach has seen lots of progress from Upchurch.
He could put up huge numbers this year. They're normally a rushing team, but their running back from last year is now at A&M. Upchurch is by far the best weapon they have.

Most of Dawson’s opponents’ attention, however, will be focused on senior wide receiver Tony Upchurch, a 6-2, 230-pound specimen, who has already committed to LSU. Upchurch has size, strength and speed – and the attributes don’t stop there. “He understands football better each year,” Wells said. “His route-running is so much better. When he lines up, he knows what’s going to be open and what isn’t. “It’s no secret he’s our best football player. He can punt the heck out of it. He can throw the ball a mile. He can catch it. He can return kicks, punts, whatever you want him to to do. “When we get in our power package, he’ll be the guy carrying the ball. It’s no fun for the defense seeing a guy 6-2, 230 pounds running toward the line of scrimmage at 80 miles per hour.”

He's also up for Texas player of the year

Could he be a running back? Or have certain plays to run the ball?

He is a low ranked guy that people would have been asking in a few years "why didnt we recruit this guy". I am glad we didnt let him go blow up at some small school. He will be much better than the websites project.

Upchurch is the new slash. I wonder if he's really a good punter, that would be sick.

We can't be this kid's only offer. He must not do interviews or just doesn't let them know of any other offers.

UpChurch is a stud. Offensive utility player. Very very rare.
Hes like Hernandez. Not saying hes a murderer or anyting like that haha but on the field he is. I want to use UpChurch just like the Pats used Hernandez. RB, WR, TE, HBack. All over the field and get mismatches. Players like him are very rare.

I imagine as long as Cameron is here he will be.

He may turn out to be the steal of the class. I think he'll end up at H-back behind Melvin Jones.

this is pretty diverse height/wt.... this guy could play TE, WR, S, LB and FB

Desean and jacory at TE. Let upchurch just be a big arse receiver that will take out a safety over the middle. Teach this guy some blocking technique and he will bulldoze corners on running plays.

At least next year we wont have to waste any commits on WRs. Really really sick talent we have coming in this year. I'm as excited about Upchurch and Chark as I am anybody else. Chark is a player.
