No what's silly is this kids second time to blow his acl so aperantly no he's not working out properly. If you knew anything about a strength coaches scope of practice you would know that their number one priority is to prevent injury and their number 2 priority is to increase strength and conditioning. But yeah you know what your talking about.

Clay probably had the opportunity to play for LSU in conjunction with some kind of academic scholarship offer, or maybe athletic coaches kids get free tuition (similar to past players kids). Its probably some variation of the two things and easily gets translated into Clay being offered a scholarship to play at LSU. Whatever...

Anyway, sorry to hear it for the kid.

I feel bad for Clay. This is why I say all the time it only takes one play to ruin a player's career. When I see former tiger athletes like Jason Determan and Eddie Furniss and how successful they are now and will be for years to come I hope these kids are focusing on academics. Life is a lot easier if you can make a living with your mind as well as your body.

This is idiotic. Want to know another player who's had two acl tears? Robert Griffin III. You think he's not working out properly? Go be stupid somewhere else.

LSU absolutely did not offer him a football scholarship. Miles does not take away scholarships due to injury, but Clay never had one in the first place.

Correct...no offer from LSU...but good kid, bad news!

Someone needs to bookmark this thread for future use. Because nearly ever post in this thread is wrong including the OP.

I feel bad for the kid and hope he bounces back.

On the bright side, the thread created in his honor has turned into gold!

Sorry you feel that way! The only information I gave out was either told to me directly by Clay or by my son, who plays on Catholic football team with Clay. I guess it's possible that they both lied to me, but I chose to believe them

I don't really have a dog in the fight and obviously have no inside info, but I would think that the strength coaches son would have committed on sight as soon as he had an offer.

"Moffitt has also earned an LSU scholarship offer as a tight end on the football team. "

The advocate must be wrong too!

Listen, I have no dog in this fight. I just was curious and decided to read the thread.

First of all, I feel bad for the young man. Your senior year of football is special to a lot of kids. It sucks the most for him he won't be out there with his teammates.

Second of all, whether he has a scholarship offer or not is not important. The important thing is that you first say you are a family friend, then you got this information from his father, first hand btw:

quote:

It doesn't matter now, but I'm going off first hand information from his father, who might be in the loop on that kind of information!

Then you go on to say that it was your son who told you. You could possibly be right and he did get a scholarship. But you lied about where you heard it from. That makes you a douche.

Thirdly, say he did get a scholarship offer, to play baseball or football or whatever. His dad is the S&C coach, why not commit on the spot? Where else are you possibly gonna go? They have a lot of big fish out there for LSU and very limited spots available as far as LSU scholarships are concerned. Why not jump on a commitable offer? It makes no sense.
