OK. But the grind of the SEC week after week takes a toll on teams not as deep and talented. Agree?

Depends on your schedule.

You can say that about any other conference. No shite that bad teams in the bottom half will get wore down by teams in the upper half that are better than them

Stanford would beat LSU. Finish top 3 in the SEC
Posted on 8/17/13 at 2:41 pm to craigbiggio
Go look at UCLA...they are good and it is brutal.

You lost all credibility.....Tennessee? Georgia isn't much either imo.

So much fail in here...
So o.p. bitches about rankings, then sites lack of draft picks and talent. Since when are rankings based purely off of talent? That's about as bad as printing up t-shirts for the recruiting championships.
Stanford is a good team, and if you think LSU is head and shoulders above them just bc of who they play, then you don't watch much football.

Stanford will have one of the best O-lines in the country for the next few years at least.

Not really. To be fair here, The SEC has a lot of better athletes at the top more than any other conference. Now every conference has cellar dwelers, But the SEC is still above all others. Put I this way. Oklahoma, and Texas would do decent in the SEC for a year by year standpoint. USC could as well, the same with a Stanford. Bottom line is the SEC is way better [talent wise] than any other conference.

Yeah but Tennessee isn't good

For me to be missing the point you would have had to have made it already...you only talked about them beating the bad teams in the conference...
And the original argument was only an expression of frustration regarding the current Stanford team's position in the top 5---not what it would look like years down the road should it join the SEC--I think we can all agree this would change things.
And so as Stanford is currently made up, no way in hell do they compete consistently with the top half of the SEC...

They are not as good as they were, but still an SEC team with players that would shine in the Pac -10.

What? They almost beat a great Bama team last year in the SEC title game. UGA is gonna be real good this year. A Senior QB and a beast rb. UGA does what most SEC teams do. They reload......

LSU is lucky to be situated in the South. If they were in Ohio or California with that head coach, you'd be fawning over Stanford's success.
As for Stanford vs. Notre Dame, they got screwjobbed just like Oklahoma and Pitt. Notre Dame was a 9 win team in a 12 win team game last season.

You guys just dont know college football if you really think Stanford could beat LSU. Did you watch them vs Notre Dame?
Posted on 8/17/13 at 2:56 pm to MontyFranklyn
I guess though we'll never know since Stanford only schedules Sacramento St. and Duke as OOC opponents...

Whoa. What? Notre Dame went onto OU and beat their arse........ A 31-6 win on the road against a real good team is not luck.

Oregon vs UT will be a bloodbath. I worry more about our Pac schedule save Colorado. Cal has more talent right now.

Yep. They have recruited very well at OL and know how to develop them.
