Stanford got screwed against ND? Lol. Look, I like Stanford, but they were lucky to be in that game. The refs gifted them a turnover in the 4th quarter when Golson was running inside the 10. Nobody remembers that (of course, most didn't watch that whole game). Also, they didn't score an offensive TD that entire game. ND's defense stoned them. But at that point in Stanford's season, Hogan had not settled in as the starter.

The SEC homers embarrass me. It's like they don't watch Football.

Stanford is legit, and has the best O-Line in college football. They have a top 5 coach IMO, and if he stays for 2 more years, they will play for a National Title.

People over value a conference but undervalue specific teams on this site.

tOSU
Stanford
Notre Dame (last year)
Those teams are great examples.

They also overvalue conference talent.

The SEC obviously has the most depth top to bottom, but to think that teams that scoop up the best Cali talent(USC, Stanford), the best Florida Talent (FSU), the best Ohio talent (tOSU), and the best Texas talent( Texas) can't compete with the SEC's best are completely ignorant.

And so as Stanford is currently made up, no way in hell do they compete consistently with the top half of the SEC...

this is a ridiculous argument. why would Stanford, as a pac 12 school, build their team for the sole purpose of being able to compete consistently with 4 or 5 SEC teams? their goal is to win their conference, the pac12 not the SEC, and play for national championships. believe it or not, the SEC isn't going to play in every single championship game.

Uhhhhhh...USCw is on sanctions, has been, and if beating Oregon once in a row is repeatedly, then yes, repeatedly...

FYI, Oregon crushed Stanford 2 short seasons ago...this should ring a bell, as this was the same season LSU had their way with Oregon...

Stanford is legit, bottom line. They play good defense and run the ball well. They also have smart coaches that help them win games unlike some teams

Sorry, you can't use that line of thinking in sports.

The "smart coaches that help them win games unlike some teams" threw up a red flag

Sorry

I know, but considering that Stanford plays no good OOC opponents, it's the closest analogy available...

Stanford is a top 5 team. You are showing your stupidity.

They played Notre Dame OOC last season. Better than any OOC team LSU played.

For the most part, most schools play only one major ooc opponent and they play ND so I don't hold that against them. Rarely do you see schools play 2 major ooc opponent. Well other than ND

Ok so is a team that plays good OOC but loses really a good team?

I say yes, but to people on this site it's only SEC and unbeaten a that are good

Wisconsin once Phillips started at QB was good. ND loses one game but they're awful. Bama lost a game, but they were great. See where I'm going with this?
