Curious to the reaction to this. Cameron says plays are his to call, but he wants Miles' input:
ESPN story
I guess what he says makes sense.

Not sure if it's that article or another I read recently, but Cam flat out says "that's pretty much how it works everywhere".

Well, it did put it in context. Often, it's portrayed here as meddling from the head coach. I think Cameron does a good job explaining how it works and why it should be that way pretty well here.
Yeah, it's not a huge revelation, but it is good "shut up," information for people who complain about Les meddling with the OC.

This is shocking news to all the X-Box coaches out there who have no clue as to how a big time program actually works. Their little wonderland of some super OC riding in on a white unicorn to save the LSU offense form Les Miles just got shattered by reality.

If this shows on the field we are gonna be callin Cam Cam a genius.

Big-time coaches promote Oline coaches to Offensive Coordinator and then dictate the game plan to them?
That happens everywhere?

Anyone with common sense and no agenda understands this.

Did anyone really have confidence in Stud running things?

I certainly can't recall any other big-time coach doing this in August after their actual OC was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease...

So in your world, have no O line coaches ever been promoted to OC? Also residing in that sweet little fantasy of yours no HC ever has any input into the offensive planning and play calling?
Is that how how see the football universe? Wheeeeeeeeeeee

You'll be hard pressed to find an OC that doesn't want his Head Coach's input in all of football.
That's his boss.

Cam is going to listen to Les and all the other assistant coaches. They all sit down and make a game plan before every game. They all study film of their team and the coming opponent and try to find an advantage. The have calls depending on down and distance and where they are on the field. But the important thing that coach Cam brings is coaching and execution. He will be the one calling the plays. Les will have his head set on and will be listening. If he tries to put to much input in the actual play calling. They will not be able to run an up tempo offense. So take it for what it is worth. All teams do the same thing. The improvement happens on the practice field and then should carry onto the playing field.

Since RP was kicked off the team, this offense has been snake-bitten IMO. QB play has been shoddy and we couldn't seem to figure out the OC. Excitement with Krags coming in, but then he gets diagnosed, so Les is forced to scramble. Hopefully the dark days for this unit are coming to an end.

And when the OC doesn't do what the HC wants, what happens? Anybody know? Anybody?
You in the back of the room? What's your name again? Cam something? Tell us what happens.

Ok, first our OC got diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.
Second, O-line coaches have been OC's, HC's and other position coaches. Mike Munchak comes to mind immediately.
