That changed for me some with him not laying out some form of suspension yesterday. The Hill story has become too big to not do SOMETHING.

No. this is why I have more respect for him. He did not do what everyone else expected or wanted him to do. As you stated above "the story became too big." It only became too big because he was a star player. If this was a roster player of minor impact to the team it would not even be a story - so why the difference in expectations?

Hill should be in a jailhouse somewhere, not on LSU's proud playing fields.

I doubt there is a judge in the country that would have given jail time to any college student for Hill's misdemeanor.

I think Miles has handled this well. He has always treated disciplinary matters with due regard to the privacy interests and needs of his players. He seems to treat them as human beings who deserve respect and support even when they make mistakes. I don't need to know all the details of the disciplinary actions he has taken or will take. Neither do the public or the press.

I think he sees an opportunity to help a young man get control of his life instead of throwing him onto a trash heap. I applaud him for that. I would applaud any coach for any team for that. If Hill doesn't get his act together, then, based on Miles' record, he will deal with it appropriately at that time.

And if I were a parent of a recruit, I would want my son to play for a coach who would not throw a player under the bus, but who would make a strong effort to help get the player back on the right course when he has made a mistake.

Hill was certainly in the wrong, but there has been an awful lot of overreaction by a lot of folks.

No kidding!

You would think Hill pistol whipped a 80 year old by the reaction of some rather than punch a guy who looked bigger than him.

Les seems to have a very good track record of both dismissing players when needed and giving others another chance if acceptable. I can trust him on this to do the right thing.

As for what was seen on the 10s video I cannot defend or excuse. Obviously there was some context, but I haven't seen or heard of any that would justify Jeremy's actions. The whole "bar fight" explanation is hollow.

There is... Les just thinks its a better idea to make TCU waste time preparing for him. That's more important than making bitching fans happy.

We can bitch and whine about Miles all day or all year long, simple fact,he's not going anywhere till the powers that be get tired of him or tickets sales fall to an unacceptable level (we know that ain't gonna happen) I'm not even so sure a poor season record would do it. I for one don't like Miles laid back attitude during the game,at times when he really needs to take control he's standing around completely unaware of what's going on (what it looks like anyways) that's why he gets paid the big $$$...a little more intensity and focus from the HC...too much to ask for?
