Did you not watch the Oregon Game?
The poster in question to which you responded to was talking specifically about punt returns...and those two games featured TM7's best PRs. Did he even return punts vs Oregon? He was amazing that game, but it was all playing D, IIRC.

Mathieu def split time with sombody at the start of the season before he took over exclusively. I believe it was Beckham and then Beckham replaced him the following season.
Beckam got a few here and there, we returned 39 punts in 2011 TM7 returned 27 of them.

Punt return wise
3-36, 3-34, and 2-12 aren't anything to write home about.
Like i said, TM7 was electric, and one of the greatest play makers i had ever seen, but he didn't come into his own as a punt returner till the end of the season. PP7 was dangerous throughout.

Mathieu's quick development
Man, this dude just has it. Some people have it in music, or business. This dude has it in football. I hope he can keep it together. That spotlight will intensify with every bit of success that comes his way.

I'm not really surprised. His last year at LSU he was a sophomore. The biggest improvement in players usually happens over the next two years. There's really no telling how good he's going to be.

I have as much interest in Tyrann Mathieu as he had in the national championship game.

Bama mauled him in coverage in the Natty.
Da'Rick Rodgers burned him too in the Tennessee game.

Fair enough - those were his low points. But they were some perfectly placed passes.
On the other hand, the amount of highlights Tyrann had in two years was simply amazing. I'll just leave it at this, in 40+ years of watching us play he was as enjoyable to watch as anyone.

Honestly he has the skill set of an amazing OLB, in the body of a CB. He tackles well, blitzes well, covers the slot and TE, forces fumbles etc.

I think Bama and LSU fans a like can find a mutual interested in the Arizona secondary. I just hope Javier and Johnson can make some noise, but it's gonna be tough with PP7 and Mathieu dominating.
