I've been around and raised dogs my whole life. I'm no back yard breeder, but usually have maybe 1 litter a year or so. This is her first litter and first time I've had a female that won't eat even alpo. This is the largest litter we've had.

I've bottle fed plenty since day 1 with no problem- it's just a pain to feed them every few hours. Your other option is do you know someone who has a female that has recently had puppies? If so (and she doesn't have to many) you can let her help feed them. Both have worked for me with 100% success. Sorry about the mom- maybe she's stressed? Try keeping her and pups in a calm quiet area and keep the temperature at least 75 -80 degrees.
Hope this helps!

i don't know about dogs, but in humans the only way to get more milk is to let the baby nurse more. supply and demand.
also, plenty of water and nutrient rich food.

Mom needs high quality puppy food. Diamond puppy has 31% protein. You can get it at most feed stores. Supplementing the puppies would be a very good idea esp since this is first litter. 6 days is not too long to wait to cut tails but I would have someone help feed puppies while you are away at Tarpon. If you need I have a recipe for milk replacer to supplement the pups.

I feed the mom 27 protein 20 fat dry feed and canned dog food on top, but she won't touch it right now. She seems fine and her milk is white as can be she just won't eat. I just fed the pups a little the formula I used is a can up pet milk, with a cup of boiled water, 2 egg yolks, a tablespoon of karu syrup, and 2 tablespoons of regular yogurt. My girlfriend made it so all thats off the top of my head.

We have 8 now. 1 died. All these look great and are 2 weeks old now. I have to feed a bottle once or twice a day just to help the mom because she's low on milk. I'm a proud parent though!

FYI. I hope you had the tails cut by now. That is suppose to be done when the pups are 3-5 days old, no later.

FYI. I know I've always raised boxers just never with a situation like this. I had em done at 6 because they had a weak spell and my vet said it would be better to do it when they are stronger. He was right they handled it sooo much better then when I had them done at 3 days old other times. These pups are doing great now. Hopefully the solid white ones won't have any health issues.

Why do you cut a boxer's tail? I can't remember.
