Anyone planning on going. I got in the ticket lottery and got 4 other people to get in for me. Anyone else in the lottery?

Just curious what channels you went through to get them.

US Soccer Supporter's Club. The USSSC allotment sold out in 15 minutes or so.

No offense to any of the other organizations, but it seems like US Soccer Supporter's Club is the best. You always get first crack at everything.

Normally, yes.... but this whole ticketing thing for the Mexico game was a class A clusterfrick from the jump.
I *think* Crew season ticket holders got first crack. (But they weren't allowed to purchase "their" seats, and I think were only allowed 1:1 purchases.)
AO had a large allotment, but I think they had to gather interest, and then received their allotment.
USSSC's allotment sold FAST, so I don't know how many they got.
And the public lottery is a first for a qualifier.
I get why they're doing it.... to keep the Mexicans out, and the scalpers to a minimum.
I really think USSSC needs to go to a priority point system like most colleges do.

I was out for work. I have a buddy that's a USSSC member. He got his/our 4, went to log back in with my info to get another 4 and they were gone.
I do get first crack, but this was NUTS.

I booked a ticket with miles flying out a 6am Tuesday and coming back 6am Wednesday just in case I get some.

If someone in my group gets tickets in the lottery, I'll let you know.
I'll be glad to sell them to you. Not at face value, obviously, but cheaper than Stubhub.

It depends on how US Soccer handles it.
If I were running US Soccer's ticketing, I'd bounce the public lottery list (you had to apply) off the USSSC and AO membership lists and "randomly assign" tickets to those people (and people within two hours drive of Columbus) first.
Are opponents (and scalpers) registered as members of one (or both) organizations? Sure, but not in greater percentages than the general public.
The other thing I'd do if I were in charge of US ticketing: priority points. USSSC already gives us membership cards. Provide a kiosk to scan them at the venue (g'bye scalpers!). Provide AO and other supporters groups a similar method. Give so many points annually for "years as a member." Assign points based on games attended (a mileage multiplier based on distance from home... i.e. Harry Pitts gets more points going to Seattle than Houston.) Assign a games attended multiplier. Double points for two games in a calendar year, triple points for three games in a year, etc. This would also help to drive attendance to the shite friendlies, and could drive attendance at things like U-23 and U-20 tournaments.
When a high demand game comes out, rank the list based on points, either presale based on rank, or do the application method and assign tickets from the ranked list. Scalpers are shite on, as they aren't actually attending games. Mexico Juan that buys membership just so he can buy tickets for the Mexico game is literally the last guy on the list.

This is just unbelievably *insert appropriate term here*, Jack. Juan isn't the only male given name in Mexico. There are some named Jose, instead.

It seems like the way US soccer did it, should be pretty successful at keeping a majority of Mexicans out. Not a perfect system though
It was Crew season ticket holders first, then USSSC members, then AO members, then US soccer twitter followes and then general public.
I like the idea of using points.

Why didn't they just say no brown people?

Similar presale pattern in Salt Lake for the Honduras game. Crowd was 20%(?) Hondurans, and in my little twenty seat area (USSSC seats) there were 10 Hondurans.
I expect a 30-40% Mexican crowd, sadly.
