Anybody else think the B1G messed up the new divisions set to begin in 2014?

They aligned it East-West:

tOSU
Mich
PSU
Mich st
Maryland
Rutgers
Indiana

Illinois
Iowa
Minnesota
Northwestern
Nebraska
Purdue
Wisconsin

Looks like PSU, MSU, UM, tOSU will battling it out as the class of the conference and the winner gets to go play the sacrificial lamb from the west. ON that note, it looks like Nebraska or Wisky will run shite and always be in the championship game.

That makes more sense. You can't make divisions based on success when success is cyclical.

Better to have an Oklahoma/Texas situation where the winner of that game is the favorite to win the conference than to have to play each other again. If and when PSU gets good again, I wish they would scrap the geographical moniker and flip PSU to the other side.

You do realize that Wisconsin has won the last 3 big ten titles right? So how are the a sacrificial lamb?

I think the alignment is pretty fair

I believe you have forgotten Wisconsin has won the past three Big Ten Championships...

I think a North-South split would've been better while bending the borders slightly like the SEC did for Mizzou:

SOUTH:

Rutgers
Maryland
PSU
OSU
Purdue
Indiana
nebraska

NORTH:

Iowa
Minnesota
Mich
Illinois
MSU
Wisky
Northwestern

I think this is far more balanced. If OSU and MIch rematch, then so be it. It'd be a great dramatic match up with possibly higher ratings than the SECChampionship.

Meh, I don't see the problem. Each have a big 3.

OSU
Mich
PSU

Nebraska
Wisconsin
Iowa

The rest are just mid-tier teams that can make a run some years.

ANYthing is better than the non-geographic "Leaders" and "Legends" divisions.

Over the last 20 years the West division has won 9 BIG 10 championships compared to the East division has 11.

This thread just proves that people will always bitch no matter what they do.

This divisional lineup is better than Leaders/Legends by a mile.

Conference games won in the past four seasons:
West 108
East 112
(counts Rutgers, Maryland, and Nebraska's non-B1G conference records in appropriate years)

The fact that that number is even close to being balanced makes your post pointless. The divisions are relatively balanced.
