Well I'm welcome to you enlightening me. For my definition, mediocre to below average food that is about $4-$5 too high for what it is, coupled with the wonderful "atmosphere" of Kincade Lake and a dickhole owner like Jimbo absolutely qualifies as hot garbage.

Have you eaten at Janohn's, Alx? I don't get back that way much if at all, but I was curious about it.

It's the stuff in the bag and can. It's generally rotten. I've never eaten it, as I'm afraid I might die.

Mediocre is hot garbage?

It's a pretty place. Do you really not like wooden structures on clear impoundments with a bar and dock for boats?

I like Jimbo. I can understand if someone else does not.

Again

Yes, and would love to go back. My wife had a bad experience with her wine order, and that's probably why we did not go back. Overpriced a bit, but given the selection here, I did not mind. Anything to not give Fred business is fine by me.

LOL

Jimbo is my cousin...I felt compelled to pimp his place.

But I agree. Tunks is just your average fried seafood place.

is this the place in Boyce? I have heard some friends rave about it. It just seems so odd to have good food in Boyce.

If this = hot garbage, then I'm a huge hot garbage fan.

BTW, some of their non-fried stuff is really good. Possibly the best meal I've ever had came from their specials board.

Tunks is what it is, if you take Alexandria (that's considered Boyce I think) too seriously you're just fricking up. You're not going to get a fresh Provencal dinner, but if they served that no one would show up. They give people what they want.

Yes, and it used to be on Jackson St. ext. back in the 80's. Was outstanding back then. No idea why they reopened out there. I may have known once, but I've drank since then.

If any of you want to go, call first. Not a place I'd show up cold.

It's Kincade. It's nothing special. I grew up spending a couple weekends a month during summer there. I guess I'm just desensitized.

That's fair. He's been a huge jerk to my family a few times in situations where it wasn't warranted; if we're calling a spade a spade, that's probably where a healthy dose of my vitriol comes from.

Good to hear. I'll echo what Salmon said, it does seem a little random to be in Boyce of all places, but if it's good I won't question it.

I lived out there for a long-arse time and I think it's beautiful. My friend has a place in the cove across from Tunks, fortunately you can't see it from his place, and it's absolutely spectacular for Alexandria.

What's really scary are the "places" on the non-lake side of the road. I hear banjos and smell meth every time I drive through. Why are those structures even there?

I used to ride my 3-wheeler, dating myself, on the road that connects Tunks to Kisatchie Lane and those folks in trailers would have their doors open...holy shite. If I would have broken down I would have abandoned my shite for sure.

That point out in front of Tunks was a great camp site. The levee right there was accessible from a trail through the woods and that was a hoot. Go frick around on the spillway...

I really don't know what meth smells like. The appearance of these places is scary though. People filled with tatoos and scars. Some from prison-others from bars. men covered with grease from head to feet. Drinking pearl from a can and tobacca from a mail pouch sack. Houses full of chickens and yards full of hogs. That kind of thing.

I want to like Bellino's, I really do, but everytime I've been it's just been medicore to bad

The last 2 times the sauce to pasta ratio was just absurd. My noodles were floating there was so much sauce.
