For all of you who said this was a horrible idea... look at the interest he's drawn from other teams clearly he's worth a look at veteran minimum. Do not want to be stuck watching Lopez for to many more years and it doesn't seem like we will be making any moves at center anytime soon.

If we can sign him for the league minimum for 1-2 years I'd be ok with it.

Anything higher, nope nope nope

Why don't we try and recruit Oden down to NOLA. We really need a center and he could pan out to be great at a cheap price. If his knees buckle under him again he can just hang out with Eric Gordon at a lot cheaper price.

His knees are totally shot. He may be worth a look on an non-guaranteed veteran minimum deal, but that's it.

Agreed, but I'm sure the Heat will offer the same.

Not misleading thread title still applys to should we recruit him to NOLA. If you watch any news on sports you would know that only the cavs and heat are interested at the moment mr wanna be admin.

He's finished. If he had any significant chance of becoming something again he'd be making the minimum in Portland instead of being out of the league.

This! Heat need a big man....this will be the perfect fit and the easiest way to fly under the radar and scoop up yet another first round top 10 guy that will be starting for the Heat one day

I'm not one to bitch about stuff like thread titles, but that's not what the title "applys".

It is misleading. It implies that there is a rumor that we are interested. It doesn't say "Greg Oden...should we?" Or some such. Also...

He can't be any worse than the caveman that we currently have. Yeah Lopez has had his ups and downs with some really efficient games but he is nothing more than a backup. Signing oden to a veteran minimum or slightly higher could have a really big payoff. He apparently has looked pretty good to even attempt a comeback so hes worth a look unless we draft len tonight.

Sure, he'd be worth a look on a vet minimum.

But if its us and the Heat bidding for similar amounts of money...guess who wins?

But maybe he wants a fresh start on a team that will look past his rusty mistakes that he is bound to make. You are under the microscope in Miami unlike here.

Much better

You're comparing a guy that may never be able to play again to a guy that started all 82 games last year.

hes worth a look.

Demps should definitely kick the tires, but his situation is too dicey for us to put much hope on him. Signing Oden is like buying a lottery ticket. You might get lucky but you'll probably just waste your money.

Yes, he can. He will take up a roster spot and cap space to sit there with 2 broken knees.
