Don't mind Poops. He just can't help but be a jackass in every thread he visits.

Are you seriously surprised by that?

What? That can't possibly be the first time your heard that.

Let's not dilute this situation with hate for me. While I didn't say a fricking thing that could be misconstrued in this thread, the big deal is that a man is dead for no good reason.
Kiss your babies tonight.
Assholes.

I think everybody needs to read that and STFU
It seems to me that most people were talking about how high speeds are dangerous and extremely unsafe on LA waterways. People are generally unaware at just how fast these boats go. While it is extremely sad that this fella died, hopefully people can use this as a wake up call and learning experience. Nobody was talking bad about the guy and most expressed their condolences.
You came in telling people to STFU and then questioned Sensei in a condescending tone when he questioned the speed of the boat.
I'm not starting a pissing match in this thread, but out of all the comments, yours had the only "jackass" tone to them.

Edit that post. Makes it look like you think he got what he deserved.

Not what I was saying at all

Figured that, could easily be taken wrong though.

My heart aches for Buddy's family, especially those kids!!
I can't imagine what 80+ feels like in a boat! But to each his own! Speed is just what some people feed off of, be it a boat, car or motorcycle! My biggest concern when I launch my boat is making sure me and my boy make it home that evening!

Tragic accident.
I have never been on that body of water, so I don't know the conditions.
But over the last few years I am noticing more and more go fast bass boats. These boats can get almost every driver in trouble, and some of them have no more experience than me driving them. You are just safer making a mistake at 45 than at 90.

Yes you are. And its in poor taste. There were two-three guys talking about how dumb it is to go so fast.
I think this whole thing is sad but you jumped on me. You ignored everything I said until STFU, which was in response to people blaming a man for going fast...something we have all done.
Posted on 6/24/13 at 12:50 pm to pooponsaban
I respectuflly disagree with the content of your post, but this is the wrong time/forum to discuss blame. Right now, this thread needs to be an outpouring of support for the families affected and a sharing for all of those who also handle boats. We can all learn from any accident...whether it's human caused or not. That's it.

He has gone 102mph in it before. I know he was running it hard when this happened.
Was it this one, or his last one he was running that fast? I'm just curious why he changed the prop. Buddy said there was a monster gator right there, the kind that doesn't go down when he sees you. Maybe he tried to avoid it. Just not a lot of room for error at that speed. I went 98 in an Allison once for a tourney, never again.

I can't imagine going over 60 anywhere around bayou black.
I've seen some bullets/Allison's flying down the intracoastal around there before, and I've also seen an entire oak tree floating down the intracoastal.
I'm sure this guy has done what he was doing yesterday hundreds of times without a problem. Damn shame for it to happen. Hopefully it slows some people down.
And ALWAYS WEAR A DAMN LIFEJACKET AND KILL SWITCH. It makes me mad to see people running a go fast boat with no lifejacket. Simple easy things that can save your arse and somebody else's as well.

I initially thought alligator too, happened to a guy I work with over the weekend who was going 45, bumped his boat to left and pushed him under a low hangin tree branch, lost 6 rods n reels, had another buddy hit a crosstie in the intracoastal that was submerged, tore the bottom half his motor off and spun him around...sometimes there's just stuff u can't see, speeds not always the only contributing factor
