Wow. . .

My answers would include Will Smith and Johnny Depp.

I've only seen three of those five (still need to watch Fear and Loathing), and I only liked one of them: Blow. He seems to choose bizarre roles where acting talent is optional.

I figured I'd open Pandora's box with that one. Depp just doesn't do it for me.

ETA: I liked Public Enemies too, although I don't remember Depp's performance being special.

Do a head to head comparison with each. Starting with each ones best role all the way to their tenth best. It's not gonna look good for you. You'd be scraping for a good 4-5 good acting jobs for Smith.

In his defense in regards to your list, you can't really count Rango for his acting IMO.

I agree with Will Smith and would like to throw in Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, and JGL

I'm outta here when Christian Bale v. Will Smith becomes a serious debate.

Not sure if serious. I can't figure out if the refers only to JGL or your whole list.

Smith is just boring as an actor

Takes no risks at all, just picks roles that can be changed to fit him instead of trying to make himself fit the role

And now he just takes any role that he can use to put his son in the movie.

Voice-overs are very underrated. Tom Hanks in Toy Story for instance, was phenomenal. Eddie Murphy in Shrek as well. Rango was one of the best voice-overs Ive ever heard, so that's why I listed it. As far as Sweeney Todd, he may be one of the only actors in the world that could have pulled that role off.

O no I agree you can be a good or bad voice-over. I persona
Ly, just wouldn't count it on someone's acting catalog, because technically, they didn't act.

I like Johnny Depp, I just think Tim Burton has been a terrible waste on his career. I don't understand the dedication he has to him.

$$$. I think Depp has always followed money over actual creative interest.

I've never really thought Matt Damon was exceptionally good or outstanding.

I like his movies, but his roles are all kind of the same, right? Aside from Bourne, his range is basically just speaking in different accents.

ETA: And I've heard good things about his performance in the Liberace film but I haven't seen it yet.

I was thinking Matt Damon as well. Think of The Departed. There were 3 co-leads in that movie and he was by far the weakest.

Bale was great as Bruce Wayne. Sucked as Batman. Though that was largely due to the way his voice sounded. And as other have said, he has great performances.

Most overrated I can agree with Will Smith. Nothing special IMO.
