Se7en is a fantastic movie, but some of those murder scenes I just can never watch again.

Saving Private Ryan is a great movie, but I think I've only seen it twice and the last time was 10-12 years ago.

I rewatched American Beauty the other day. Some of the scenes are just painful to watch.

Oh and Blue Valentine. It's one of my favorite movies but it'll be a long time before I watch it again.

The one with Gosling looking old as shite?

I starte watching it on Netflix a couple weeks ago but decided i was too tired to watch a movie as slow paced as it was

Should i try again?

It's brutal but worth the pain. The acting is unbelievable. It feels like you're watching a documentary.

I prefer 28 Days over Weeks because the latter is almost preaching to you about how awful the US military is. At least in the first it sticks with how devolved humans are as individuals if the strings holding society together were to ever unravel.

Plus (and this is unfair) I don't think I'll ever forget hearing John Murphy's In a Heartbeat for the first time. Absolutely haunting, distbring, and oddly beautiful.

I think this is the mark of a great horror movie. Some can leave you feeling like you need to shower, make you jumpy, make you sleep with the lights on, etc. But the ones that just hit you in the gut and alter your philosophy on life, those are the brilliant ones.

SPOILERS

The scene that has always stuck with me above any other was hen he revisits his home after waking up and finding his parents lying together on their bed with the suicide note and the empty pill bottles. For a zombie movie, it seems to be a hauntingly logical reaction to the end of the world.

The sequel to 28 Days Later was stupid and absurd and only played out that way because of high anti American sentiment at the time.

In the context of this thread though, I'll give it props for the kissing scene and and tunnel scene.

Black Hawk Down. Especially the scene where they're trying to fix the guy's injured leg and can't grab the artery.

That whole movie is tough to watch.
