If you don't like the way baseball is being played, turn the TV channel. Some of us enjoy the game the way its being played now. More 'talent' to win game, more strategy to win a game. no more of the number 9 hitter waiting on 'his' pitch to hit a homer. You can't buy the advantage of having lil johnny starting at age 8 with a drop 10 bat hitting homers anymore. cry me a river. LSU didn't look good against Jack state, Sam Houston nor UL. it finally caught up to them...end of story

Nobody is talking just about LSU here, it is about the overall product the CWS has become.

Didn't the team hit approx .305 this season. Where was all the bitching about the bats during the season?

People have been bitching since they changed the bats.

Tell me all about this strategy. I would love to hear it.

if it makes the game more "national"... i.e. teams from the midwest, west, etc. can now compete better, then there is NO WAY the bats get significantly improved. there have been attempts to cure the "problem" of having no Big 10 or Northern teams in Omaha for a long time. problem appears to be solved.

The new PC game of NCAA baseball. Why not just pull names out of a hat to be the winner of the CWS. outcome based baseball.

I'm not watching anymore of the games, so I have turned the channel. Thanks. The only reason to even follow anymore is to watch the Tigers play. The rest of the games are boring to anyone especially casual fans who likes to see gap shots to the wall or the occasional equalizing HR. If you're excited about bunts and slap singles, you must be one of those real fans that tell everybody to stop whining.

If you can't admit that the game is diminished, then you are a lost cause. It's college and your saying you don't want to see pitchers pay for grooving a fast ball down the middle at the numbers? LSU might have played like crap, but to see 2 HRs in 7 games is not baseball, it's cabbage ball. In the MLB if you make a mistake to just about any hitter in the lineup there is a chance for a HR. At TDA, not so much. So keep being excited by those bunts and all the talent that it takes to lay down a sacrifice because you call it strategy. It's called small ball and it doesn't take talent or strategy, just understanding that a part of the game has been nearly eliminated.

I guarantee we wouldn't be having this conversation if LSU was 2-0 in the CWS and had won two 1-0 games. I can't recall there bring 4 or 5 bat/run threads on the first page of the Rant this year or previous seasons.

I guarantee that if LSU beat Bama in the national championship every rantard would want Les to have a statue.

You see how easy that is?

Division I teams entered April averaging one home run about every three games. In 2010 the average was about one per game.

After 32 home runs were hit in 16 games at the College World Series in Omaha in 2010, only nine were hit in 14 games in 2011 and 10 in 15 games in 2012.

The current bats are designed to perform like wooden bats.

The NCAA Baseball Rules Committee won't consider rules changes until July 2014, meaning it would be the 2015 season before a new ball could be put into play. At least until then, home runs will be at a premium.

Keilitz said the loudest complaints he hears are from the coaches who have a history of relying on big offensive numbers as opposed to pitching and defense.

LSU has one of the best pitching staffs and defenses in the country. The bats make the game boring. West Coast baseball fricking blows

Let me guess. The college season should be played April through August also, right?

It means people wouldn't be doing all this crying if we were 2-0 and still in CWS.

I'm not even complaining about the lsu games I'm complaining in general can think of 3 maybe 4 games that the winners would of been losers in 09. And the bats of the 90s needed changing in 09 they really didn't need a major change at all like the bbcor bats are. Pitchers could be good in 09 but if they made a mistake to the wrong hitter they may pay. Now it's just throw it over the plate and let the team hit it. If I want 1-0 or 2-1 games I watch the softball World Series

Arizona won it last year:

Outscoring their opponents - 27 to 8.

Seems they were able to hit - and their pitching did it's job.

If I'm not mistaken, there's still only been 2 homeruns through what, 10 games so far? These are supposed to be the top teams in college baseball. Don't you think there should be more homeruns than that?
