Dude I'd kill for 6. I'm at 1.5 . I THINK Cox offers 3MbpS in town, but out at the house we're either DSL or Sat.

This is definitely an area where we need improvement if gaming companies want to go exclusively digital.

I just think the majority of people buying their next console will not care what MS is trying to do for the future of gaming... They will see the $100 price difference and inability to buy or sell used games.

MS really needs to come out and explain this "10 family member" thing.

Agreed all around

I wonder how they will justify the 10 family thing while saying they want to kill used games in the same breath.

Without knowing too much about the family plan it sounds a bit hypocritical.

I don't understand why people are against rewarding developers for quality products they produce. It's how they stay in business, and make additional games. If you steal from them, two things will happen. They'll jack up the price, or go out of business. Simple.

Microsoft needs to fire their entire PR dept. because they failed miserably.

They should hire the people that were in charge of that Wii U presentation a few years ago. You know........the one where no one knew if it was a new console.

What's weird about Microsoft that everyone here seems to get is that they suck at explaining themselves and their vision. Like, really badly. If they're going to blaze a trail, at least put out a decent flyer explaining how. A pamphlet or something.

Hypocritical...........maybe, but it honestly seems kind of dumb. Great for us, but are you honestly going to allow 10 people play a game without having to pay anything?

I bet you none of the guys on that stage could even BEGIN to explain their DRM policy.

They could have just said frick your used games if you want Steam on console then dropped the mic and walked off stage.

It would have explained things better than they did and won the show.

I think Sony still wins the show because of the price difference. If it were the other way around, I'd say Microsoft won the show.

But knowing that if you pay $100 more now to save tons of money on the games later is enough to offset it.

I mean if they would have explained it better that is.

That's quite a leap of faith, though, don't you think?

The issue that bothers me more is the 24 hour check in, or every hour if you are playing at another IP. Have they explained that any better? I think Steam only requires a check in once a month. At least that's what my friend was telling me last night.

It's definitely a smaller window than that iirc.

The Ps4 and Xbox one with actually cost a little closer to the same if you just add in the ps4 camera thing.

As for moving with the kinect you do not have to move to play all your games or navigate, it allows it to be easier. Hand motions to move screens, and talking to the kinect to get things done. Sounds good to me.

It probably works similar to Steam. You have to login in once and THEN you can go offline. And I bet that happens every time, even if you start playing in the morning, take a break around lunch, and then start playing later that evening.

Forgive me if I don't take what they say as Gospel. That they might move the industry towards digital and still have $60 games. At that point all of the resellers are bankrupt and we are really fricked.

Steam offline works that way, you can connect online and then go offline for a week but then it forces you to connect again to check licenses and once you do that you can go offline for another week etc.

>Current plan is basically you're fricked after 24 hours. Yeah... I know. Kind of sucks. I believe they will probably revist the time period and / or find a diff way to "call in" to ensure you haven't sold your license to gamestop or something... but there is no plan YET. I'm hoping the change it, but I don't work on that so I don't have much influence there /sigh

Agreed. This plan is awesome as long as games aren't $60. The price difference in consoles would more than pay for itself with a few games. I don't see 90% off like Steam, but if they manage that, RIP Sony. Sorry to say.
