27 players selected fill out the training camp roster, with only one player from the 2012 Olympics, Anthony Davis.
This isn't all that is going to comprise the Olympic team. They just infuse some of these younger players into the veterans that will return to the team in 2016 Summer Olympics

Backcourt:
Kyrie Irving, Cavs
Damian Lillard, Blazers
Mike Conley, Grizzlies
DeMar DeRozan, Raptors
Jrue Holiday, 76ers
Ty Lawson, Nuggets
Klay Thompson, Warriors
Kemba Walker, Bobcats
Bradley Beal, Wizards
John Wall, Wizards
Dion Waiters, Cleveland
Frontcourt:
Anthony Davis, Hornets
Paul George, Pacers
Kawhi Leonard, Spurs
DeMarcus Cousins, Kings
Andre Drummond, Pistons
Kenneth Faried, Nuggets
Derrick Favors, Jazz
Taj Gibson, Bulls
DeAndre Jordan, Clippers
Greg Monroe, Pistons
Larry Sanders, Bucks
Tyler Zeller, Cavs
Ryan Anderson, Hornets
Chandler Parsons, Rockets
Harrison Barnes, Warriors
Gordon Hayward, Jazz

they always bring in a bunch of young guys to see if they can make the team. As per the article, they want to blend the talent they expect back i.e, James, Durant, Paul, Love, Harden, Westbrook. Maybe Rose,Howard and Griffin.
I guess Curry is declining to play given his testy ankles.

No Gilcrist, Parsons, and Turner?

I think you people saying "meh" don't know what this is about. Its about getting young players into and introduced to the Team USA system.

I think they need a few more Kentucky players

Irving/Wall/Lillard
Thompson/Derozan
George/Leonard
Davis/Faried/Monroe
Cousins/Sanders/Drummond
I'll take that team. (Needs some more shooters though)
FYI, Ryan Anderson is there too. Don't know why he wasn't listed but he's definitely one of the 27.

Stephen Curry did not receive an invite to USA Basketball minicamp because he has proven himself already, according to Yahoo! Sports

I bet we'll be seeing Kyrie, Paul George, possibly Klay Thompson, and possibly Larry Sanders on some future US teams.
Obviously guys like Harden, Durant, LeBron, Paul, Rose, and Westbrook will be expected back for 2016 but maybe not 2014. It's a shame that Roy Hibbert played some meaningless games for Jamaica a few years ago. he would have been very useful for us.

Sorry, they are all there now. The original list looked smaller than I thought but the first article I linked only showed 21 of the players

I don't think Boogie would ever be starting there. Drummond maybe. Also Monroe is probably the best overall player in the #4 spot at the moment.

I'll try to create a 12 man team from that roster, so that's like our worst case 2014 squad. I expect that group would lose to Spain's A team in Spain though.
PG: Kyrie, two of Lillard, Wall, Jrue
SG: Beal
SF: George, Leonard, Thompson
PF: Monroe, Anderson (should be great in the international game)
C: Sanders, Drummond, Gibson (especially with Thibs coaching)
Cousins is too much of a risk
