Breakfast Club would consist of five kids sitting around texting and Instagramming.

I don't think the director's cut was horrible

it was what 4+ hours? seemed like it at least. you have to fill in backstory (which takes time to do properly - having virginia madsen do a quick voice over doesnt cut it) to explain how we got to where we are. then, you cant cut out all that internal dialogue, its key to understanding Paul especially.

then of course we have what to do with the Weirding Way

Part of the problem is all of the internal dialogue. That comes off a bit cheesy.

I think this is one of the main problems with a good movie from the perspective of a fan of the novels. So much of the "action" happens within peoples minds throughout the series. What made the series great were the philosphical and social implications of what happened within people's minds.

As an aside, I did enjoy the original movie, and it is what got me to read the novels because without it I might have never known about them.

Just looked it up. Didn't realize the tv version clocked in at almost 5 hours. Also didn't realize Lynch ordered his name off the tv version.

Funny because I thought it was much better with additional scenes not in the movie.

Not trolling or being a hipster, but I'm not crazy about the original Breakfast Club. I couldn't imagine seeing another.

I think the SciFi miniseries for Dune was really well done.

Not as big a fan for Children.

Dune is a subject material that literally cannot be condensed well to a 90-120 minute movie.

Tarantino should remake Reservoir Dogs. He could even hire the original cast.

so is that Dune remake a remake of the movie, or a movie that actually follows the book?

I always liked the movie until I finally read the books. Now I hate the movie. I wish someone would remake it the right way. I about started a thread about it this week when I watched the movie again.

Neighbors

It wasn't even decent but great material

Belushi was coked up, akroyd mis-cast and the director was better known for directing rocky than comedies

Could be a huge hit in the right hands

I'm not a troll. Trey just follows me around the rant seeking attention in my threads. Regardless, I like the poor chap! He's good people.

Other movies to be remade (y'all will kill me):

Goonies (with Christopher Nolan writing and directing)

Patton (with Steven Spielberg at the helm)

Krull (this movie could be 1,000x better)

Neverending Story (could be 1,000x better)

Willow (with J.J. Abrams at the helm)
