Fallbacks are roast or red beans and rice.
Looking for some suggestions.

just put the word "lazy" in front of your normal dish and use that recipe .. except instead of cooking just throw all the ingredients in the crock pot then get back to your GoT marathon or 8 straight hours of X-Box
i.e. - lazy pulled pork sandwiches, lazy enchiladas el grande, lazy banana pudding

I do neither. Been a while since I had a good crockpot meal, and I'll be in the yard most of the day.

It has to do with grout and countertops.

I haven't used a crock pot much, but I'm going to start for times when I'm busy (or lazy, of course) for certain foods. I made a roast recently and it turned out much better than in the oven with more juices from the roast for the gravy. I've used an 18 quart roaster quite often for overnight or during the day stocks and it works great for large quantity items.
Here's a google page with a lot of sites to posts about crock pots here that might be helpful.

It's laughable that you look down on those that watch GoT while you're watching The Bachelor. Do you watch soap operas as well?

Pretty much the reason I have a crockpot. During football season, throw my roast in late Saturday night, and it's good to go by game time Sunday.
I just haven't ventured away from roasts and red beans, as I do mostly stovetop cooking. I really thought there'd be some unique ideas here; first time FDB has fallen short for me.

You might find something in the link I provided to threads here.

R2R is definitely a maven's maven. Helps keep things interesting imo.

With other slow cooking methods there isn't much attention needed either once you get to a certain stage
I don't see how the crockpot is somehow inherently worse

There are a lot of different recipes that are good when you want to do pulled pork.. I like trying different ones.. Some with root beer, some with real beer, and of course barbecue sauce.. The sauce that I've enjoyed the most on pulled pork is Sweet Baby Ray's.

I use mine mainly for making stock

I did pulled pork in the crock pot over Memorial Day weekend in ginger ale. Used sweet baby ray sauce actually. It was good.

That's because it's not.
