Well my point was that if it was in fact called earlier (and they were calling ticky tack fouls all game anyway), Dwayne was a dumbass for sticking his hand up there with 5 fouls.
Although I suppose George had already made a ridiculous deep 3.
Whatever, frick Dwayne Wade.

You're probably being sarcastic but it's 100% the truth. Lebron, Wade, hell half the NBA would literally slide into the seats on that. And it would be called. And I can't really blame em if the refs keep calling it. How HUGE would it be if that was called a foul?
I was thinking about the play where Augustin(sp) ran over Lebron. I might be remembering it incorrectly but why was it a foul? Aren't you allowed to set screens and aren't you allowed to blindly run right through that shite? Most of the time the screen setter trucks the defender. Did he lower his shoulder?

Because those refs last night sucked arse
And not because I think they were favoring Miami. In general just a lot of ticky-tack calls.

I know 3 steps or more is traveling. You can say "they let them get away with it all the time," but bottom line, it's traveling.
I would love to see LBJ play against people who actually had fundamentals. Fundamentals that changed when the league and Stern decided that being able to charge the fans insane amounts of money to just entertain the lowest common denominator was more important than the spirit of tough, physical basketball that was the hallmark of the NBA for a long time.
Physicality, mental toughness, and at times, violent play was how you won a championship.
The NBA has become Ringling Brothers Circus, Six Flags, and Cirque du Soleil all wrapped up in a flashy little package. Nothing more.
Is LBJ a great player. Absolutely.
Lebron James is the greatest player in a time when the NBA is the weakest it has ever been as a sport.

I really felt the calls were going Indiana's way. They were getting free throws every time down the floor. If the Heat had lost I wouldn't have blamed the refs though. Just something you have to get through.

I can agree with this.....There is NO WAY Bron drives the lane like last night in the 80's and 90's.......... Hakeem would have destroyed any effort by bron......

I couldn't agree more. I mean, almost every Forward in the league back then was 6'8", 270+ lbs, could dribble like a point guard, defend any player on the court, and be one of the fastest players on the court.

You should get a job and use some of the LBJ energy to do something useful.

It was very similar to the Bulls Heat game one. The refs were actually favoring the road team IMO. The refs weren't on full retard, but there were some questionable ticky tack calls.

Do you at least admit Lebron is the same caliber player Hakeem and Jordan and those guys were? Because its easy to say he couldn't do that back then when there is no way to know. Lebron brings a set of skills that would be hard for anyone to top in the history of basketball IMO

Biggest myth in sports. Somehow tough hard basketball has turned into fundamental smothering defense. Go watch highlights or even better full games from back then. The defense was HORRIBLE.
And to PEEJ and anyone else who thinks like him. C'mon! Look at Lebron's skill set and measurables(is this a word?). Compare him to Pippen. Lebron would have been some of Pippen and Jordan combined. He would have dominated.

Bron Is a GREAT GREAT player. No denying him that....... However I don't thik he would be as effective back in that era because of how the game was played..... Laimbeer would give him a clothesline that would make him think twice about coming at him a second time......
Posted on 5/23/13 at 12:47 pm to dukke v
Hibbert is more intimidating than Laimbeer ever was.

Does he have to win as many as Russell or even MJ/Kobe to be put in that conversation? Hell no. But he damn sure needs to win more than 1 or 2

The sad part is that if the guy had 50% of the competitive drive that Kobe has he would probably have 4-5 under his belt and the GOAT label because he is that talented
