in very general terms I'd say the middle class should be roughly 60% of the population earning the medium salary.
I'm afraid this could go into many pages and while I am enjoying this convo I'll have to hang it up for now.

the median salary in the US is like $45k. most people, in these discussions, consider that unliveable
