Those human rights violations happened because people wanted to save a few bucks.

There is empirical evidence that supply side economics doesn't work.

Ok.
Now tell me about all the poor Indonesians that were harmed when Apple's accountants figured out the ins and outs of the Irish and American tax codes.

I am against what ESPN did. But you are wrong about the apple situation. They legally did what they had to to save money. They were not evading. The laws are set. Really, it's hilarious that people buy into the government actually being mad at apple. Congress and the elite have structured those laws to keep themselves rich and in control.

There was an article in S.Illustrated a few mths back, to the effect ESPN earned $6 B in subscription revenue, $3 B in ad revenues, for a total of $9B in revenues last yr. It concluded that it was a $42 B revenue corporation. And it needs to increase its profit margin? Then guess what this means to the cost ESPN will charge cable companies for rights to carry designated SEC games in its new league contract. And guess who those high charges will be passed on to?

Apple is using loopholes in both Irish and American tax laws to avoid paying taxes on over two thirds of its business.
sounds like smart strategy and a failure of government

Trust me, if you meant to direct that at me, I do not like espn. Sports center is garbage and they are obviously greedy as frick. All programming there has turned to shite. They have twenty five analyst for every sport. They pay idiots like Berman and Holtz and Reece Davis, and Musberger (through ABC), Corso, Bayless.

what did the article say about ESPN's costs? being a high revenue generator does not mean, in any way shape or form, that you have a healthy profit margin.

It is unethical.
how?

Maybe not to a person like you whose ethics are based solely on dollars and cents, but to others of us, it matters.
the entire argument is about "dollars and cents" from either side

so me telling my accountant to lower my tax obligation as low as legally possible is unethical now? cmon man. Your problem is with the LAW, not with Apple's accountants
when you consider those companies and the super wealthy pay lobbyists and politicians off to get those loop holes written... yea its unethical.

So the stockholders and folks at the top benefit by the 'increased profit margins' while the middle class continues to suffer.
Hurray, capitalism.
