NYC restaurant Recommendations

Going to NYC soon and staying at the Marriott in Times Square. I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations for any restaurants around the area or around NYC. Looking to stay away from the typical chains and get some good food. I definitely want to stop by Little Italy.

Le Bernardin is just a couple blocks away from that Marriott, best meal I've ever had. Bring money. I recommend going for lunch, it's about half the price for basically the same meal.

Nothing I recommend will be stuffy.
JG melon is an absolute must.
Ferrara - get the cannoli in little Italy
Tio pepe - Mexican
Artichoke - great pizza joint when you're on the run.
Johnny's bar
Pig n whistle on 3rd
Little branch
Enjoy, NYC is my favorite vacation spot.

Katzs Deli if you like pastrami.
Something that most people overloo is the vendor carts. The hotdogs taste like crap, BUT find the ones with the little open flame grill on them and order a "beef with sauce". Its a little skewer with tree pieces of beef that they cook on the grill while you wait, put some kind of sauce on it, an then put it all on a hot dog bun. I believe it was 3 dollars.
My wife and I ate all over that city on our honeymoon. The pizza from famiglia and those hot dog things were my favorite.

NYC has everything:
They have a rice pudding place for example (It's awesome btw)
What do you want food wise? There are great sandwich shops like Katz' and the like, great steakhouse like Sparks, Ben & Jack, DFs and Peter Lugs of course. Phenom pizza like Lucali or Lombardo's. Brunch spots are amazing; clinton street bakery, Cookshop, Stanton Social, Essex House
Great fishbar in midtown east called Crave. Avra is good around there too
I could go on...I lived there for a few years and have been to many
