Satsuma tree problems

The tree is 2 years old. Last year it produced 15 satsumas that were great. This year it bloomed well and made a bunch of fruit. However, all of them fell off What causes this?

Look under the leaves for bugs.

Not sure if you got any of the hail that I got in SE EBR a few weeks ago, but I could see that causing some problems for you. Did you fertilize at all this year?

No bugs and no hail. I fertilized also. Could it be the late frost that we had a few weeks back? I covered it that night but maybe it wasn't enough

Same issue here. Plenty of flowers and fruit earlier but only two left and no flowers. i did see some evidence of browse that was probably the result of deer at night! Live in a subdavision but out in the Tiger Bend area so I know deer are in the area, just getting brave coming into my front yard!
Any other OB'ers having Satsuma issues?

Trees at my house usually do good every other year, not sure why but that's the way it is.

Probably late frost, same here, wiped out peaches, pears, mayhaws. I assume you have 2 varieties of satsumas, i think? they need a second variety to fruit.

Negative.
Full sun w/ plenty of water and yes fertilize.
I plant on south side of house/barn/building. West side is shaded, but doesn't matter.
Another one in full sun all day, but stays in moist ground and produces the best.
Fertilize w/ horse shite, or you can use triple-8, but not on root ball.
I lost many blooms on my satsuma, tangerines and mandarin trees this year due to the late frost.

answer
Satsuma's will "shy" bear from time to time. Relax, follow recommended fertilization and spray schedules

Not sure what the problem is; however, I highly recommend these:

Doubt it's deer. I live in that area, too, and we had a terrible hail storm a while back. My tree is doing pretty good, though.
Also, I have always heard that they tend to drop their fruit prematurely in year 2 after transplant.
ETA - Mine lost all but one last year (2nd year), but it's loaded this year.

Ditto on the miracle grow spikes.
You are not going to get much fruit until the tree is about 5 years old. I've heard of people removing the immature fruit for the first few years so the tree can focus on developing a stronger trunk, rather that nourishing fruit.
I had a great crop last year and this year looks to be about half of the prior year.
