So our #3 will be playing against #1's from here on out?

Yep, Cody starts Thursday due to possible weather, delays, keep Nola and Eades in regular rotation.

It kinda does.

I understand the decision, not to mention Nola has thrown 3 complete games in a row.

He said the weather will be bad and last thing he wants is Nola starting then stopping. Also said Nola is coming off 3 complete games and he wants to keep him on 6 days rest.

Makes sense.

Doesn't make sense unless he meant it in conjunction with the possible delays.

Anyone griping needs to check the weather forecasts first.

This...and do people just think the coaches come up with these decisions out of thin air? Do people believe that NO thought was put into anything that coaches decide ahead of time?

What is with this recent trend...I swear every other team we play does this now

Cant blame them. I mean it seems like every time Nola pitches it's a guaranteed win. I know it's not true and he will come back down to earth eventually. But he has been pitching lights out lately.

Guess we now know why McCune started Sunday (although I suspected this all along). He is getting a young pitcher a 2 week rest going in to the stretch run of the season. Smart move.

win on national TV thursday with our #3 and be completely set up for the sweep with ace and #2 left to go
Posted on 4/30/13 at 9:30 pm to absolute692
I recall back in the day when Chad Ogea had that great run of consecutive game 1 wins going that a lot of teams basically conceded Game 1 to LSU and saved their ace for game 3.

I don't think that had much to do with it.

Well, it certainly wasn't smart to pitch McCune...and not sure why Glenn needs rest and Eades/Nola doesnt. Glenn doesnt exactly throw very hard.
And what's with folks calling Glenn young? Nola is no older

No I questioned it from the very beginning, actually
Considering Glenn threw 8.0 inning and gave up no runs the weekend before on the road, wasn't hard to wonder WTF he was doing on the bench to send a guy who has gotten rocked by SEC pitching for years up there.
