Had she not gotten stabbed, Monica Seles would have won more majors than Steffi Graf
That's not an unpopular opinion among tennis fans...

No tennis player in history had more talent than Marat Safin.
But that might be...

The average Joe would question its wisdom.

I guess it's true that the average Joe doesn't realize how dominant Monica was prior to the stabbing.

She was amazing. I'd never seen a player, male or female, hit angles like that before. Steffi couldn't beat her for two years.

I think I'm going to make this a life motto because if you knew her you'd know just how big of a claim that is.

I'll go one further. The only reason Tebow does not start is because NFL teams would rather fail in a traditional way than try something new and risk criticism. Tebow shows how intellectually bankrupt most bad teams are (I'm not gonna blame a good team for failing to take a shot on something different, but some place like Buffalo or Jacksonville?)
My natural inclination to such a statement is that it's absurd, but I respect your opinion on most things sports related.
And I do agree to an extent. Tebow could start for some very poor teams. But the offense would have the be completely structured around his talents. And that makes sense. You should structure your offense around the strengths and weaknesses of your signal caller. I suppose the only problem you would run into is it's very high risk considering it would be tough to find a similarly styled back up in his case. Who do you bring in if he goes down?

Pete Sampras had the best serve in the history of the game and you can see the kind of shoulder action he uses in his motion.
I don't know if he had the best serve. But if you narrow it down to tennis players who had an all around great game and were consistently in top 3 throughout their career...then yeah he has the best serve out of them.
There are a couple of guys who had better serves but aren't as great all around IMO.

1.Michael Jordan is NOT the best basketball player ever
2.Pedro Martinez is the most dominant player in any team sport ever
3.Joe Montana is NOT a top 5 QB of all time
4.Vitali Klitschko would be favored to beat any heavyweight in the history of boxing... Ali, Foreman, Tyson anybody
5.Rip Hamilton is a top 15-20 SG of all time.

I would rank him about 3 or 4 honestly

I don't speak Spanish, no comment.

No doubt. Maybe top 10

Wouldn't know

Doesn't seem that unreasonable. In his prime he was a beast. Guy seemed like a damn marathon runner on the court and could spot up mid range jumpers with the best. One of my favorite NBA players to watch. He reminded me of Iverson as well as he moved without the ball in his hands. But more efficient and a better defender IMO.

Without a doubt, the greatest athlete of all time is Alex Honnold. He is perfect. He's never made a mistake. How do I know? He's still alive.

Im late to this party but its a good thread topic so I will add my thoughts which have probably already been added.
Tiger is a better golfer than Jack. Tough one to swallow for most people
Barry Bonds deserves the most HR by anyone and no asterisk...

Tom Hanks was terrible in A League of Their Own. Adam Sandler was even worse in The Longest Yard.

Diego Maradona does not belong in the discussion for best soccer player ever.

People tried to make him the scapegoat for the entire steroid era. Ridiculous. He won 3 MVP awards before taking steroids, and he is still vilified more than players who had no chance at being remembered without juicing.

This. And the fact that baseball knew these guys were juicing and did not give one single frick. They loved the increase in fans.
Then wanted to use them as scapegoats...
I dont particularly care for Bonds. But he should be recognized as the leading HR player

Who is the best basketball player of all-time? And who's in the top 5?
First opinion: CFB>NFL
Second: Aikman was an average QB.
Third: Jackie Robinson is one of the most baseball players or all-time and athletes.
