Dang, Hiller like a boss yesterday. I missed all the night games. Looked like it was another nailbiter between the Kings and Blues. Isles go up 2-1 today.

I've actually been somewhat impressed with ESPN's NHL coverage on SportsCenter and ESPNEWS.
I have not...

Seems like they're covering every game and the legend Barry Melrose doing every segment.
the only man on ESPN worth even a pinch of horseshite

Last night they even played the old NHL on ESPN theme song when cutting to a segment, it was frickin' awesome, one of the best sport theme songs IMO.

I am gonna go ahead and suggest their Canadian counterparts at TSN or even Sportsnet or the Score for theme music..

Well that's because everyone left, Gary Thorne and Bill Clement. Hell even Erin Andrews hosted ESPN's hockey night.

Nah, ESPN's Hockey Night theme was voted best sports theme alongside the old Wimbledon NBC theme and CBS College Football theme on a few sites.

I think they know they fricked up not getting the rights to the NHL going forward with how big of a ratings boost the NHL received this year and growth of the sport overall. Last night they even played the old NHL on ESPN theme song when cutting to a segment, it was frickin' awesome, one of the best sport theme songs IMO.

Just watch NHL Network. ESPN thinks hockey is a niche sport (rightfully so) like College Basketball. They only acknowledge hockey during the playoffs. Nothing more, nothing less.

BTW this would be espns' coverage of the NHL

ESPN: Crosby,Crosby,Crosby,Crosby,Ovie,More Crosby, ooohhh a dirty hit! (Pittsburgh set record local TV ratings so of course they'd treat them like the Lakers)

Oh I definitely don't watch FOR the NHL, I'll watch NHLN for that.

I catch SC and ESPNEWS usually nightly and just see more NHL playoff coverage than usual it seems.
