Why Do We Get Sad When Dogs Die in Movies But Not People?

Two scenes that stand out to me are in The Butterfly Effect when the dog is burned alive and in Halloween when Michael kills the dog. I did not have that feeling when Michael kid any of the humans.

De-sensitization and over exposure of people being killed in movies and on tv..we also like dogs better because they love unconditionally.

I don't cry when dogs die. I have cried a couple times when people have died.

Molly and me, gosh that movie was sad. I remember watching it in school.

holee shite I was just thinking this earlier watching Marley and Me. I can watch any movie where a human gets killed and not have any issues but let me see a movie with a dog get killed and I have tears.
