Have any of y'all ever built a kegerator out of a mini fridge? If so what size fridge and what size kegs? Trying to get ideas to build one instead of buying.

I helped a friend customize a 4.4 cu ft. mini fridge into a kegerator. It held two 5 gal corny kegs and a 2lb CO2 tank. He found the build info online and we just followed it.

We only put a single tower tap on it(he repurposed it from another build), but he should have just bought a dual tap tower so he didn't have to manually switch between kegs..

Look under "Kegerator tutorials" LINK

There are a few mini-fridge conversions in there.

Don't do a mini-fridge. Use a real fridge instead. Extra feezer space up top for you fozen mugs, and enough room in the fridge for a 1/2 and a 1/4 or 1/6, plus all the door shelves for bottles and cans.

Bill is sort of right. Dont do the mini fridge - use a chest freezer instead. Build a collar on top and put the taps through it. With a temp controller its as good as a fridge, except it'll hold its temp a lot better. PLUS, it'll usually hold more.

Agreed. Except, don't ever, ever use frozen mugs for beer. Ever.

Ever.

Was in my buddy's house now in my shop. Going to fix it up a little. Not quite as nice as this one but look like a bar.

I turned a 3/4 size standing freezer into a 4-tap kegerator... wasn't too hard and I have a top shelf and the door (minus the shelf the taps are using) for extra beer storage.

I had the same attitude when I built mine. I like my beer really cold, and a 20 oz. mug is a helluva beer.

Might as well drop a couple of ice cubes in it, if you're going to use a frozen mug.

I did the Sanyo 4912 conversion. It was easy using all the online tutorials. Since its stainless, it looks great sitting in my kitchen.

Get the mini fridge without a freezer on top. I'm pretty sure it's a Danby. I found one with intentions of repurposing it and it held 2 5 gallon kornys and a 5# tank but I lucked into a Deep freezer kegerator already converted. It's nice...
