LSU could get swept this weekend. They will be just as elite a team as they would were they to sweep. It's baseball

It's a game of percentages ,some days they fall for you, some days they don't. The great teams can affect the percentages in their favor by being relentless and over achieve. This team is very good but not great IMO . They will have to great to win all in Omaha ,they can be very good and get there.

1) I told someone about a month ago I was concerned that we were peaking too early. You can't stay as hot as we were throughout the season.

2) I kinda question if they got "up" for the Bama series.. so that could have contributed to last week.

They played about 4 games in three days with all the extra innings.

3) I was at the Sunday game... they were sluggish.. but they basically played 2 games Saturday night.

You didn't have to be there to see sluggish. However, Katz is slumping and Jacoby is Jacoby. Eades is slumping and Glenn is Glenning.

I will take 8-2 over our last ten games as a slump

I respect your opinion but I couldn't disagree with you more. Their fielding is one of the best I've seen at LSU and their offensive lineup can strike from any batting order. The past few games, it was the bottom of the order that came through in clutch times. The meat of the order is gonna get their hits

I am glad we aren't playing great right now. We are still winning. It is almost impossible to go the entire season without a slump offensively (not that we are in a major slump). 2 weeks away from the box and still 4-2 is pretty good baseball.

My sentiments as well. I don't think we're playing all-around as well over the last two weeks as we were earlier. That's ok (for now).

What we need for the stretch run:
1) Eades to return to dominance
2) Katz, Rhymes, and Jones to pick it up a nitch at the plate.
3) Bregman to continue on

It does say a lot that we're continuing to win on the road when we're not playing our best.

A bit of an over exaggeration. It was only 1 game that cost them

Yeah one game we lost and the other we went 16 innings because of errors

By reading some people in this thread, you would think this team is fighting to just get into the SEC Tournament. I guess they expect to play like we did against Kentucky every weekend.

I only have 2 concerns

1) ryan eades (can't get how last season ended out of my head)
2) katz at 2b (if you know me it should be obvious :|)

All teams will cycle during a long season.

Sure the Tigers were hot and have cooled down. But I think the cycle will work perfectly when this team gets hot again at the back of the season.

I share some of your concerns about Eades. Saturday is a big start for him. I think Katz at 2B was more of a message to Jones to get his stuff together.

yes, the last 2 games are cause for concern but hopefully it's just an aberration. The 3 games prior he was lights out and was actually pitching better than Nola

I wouldbt say we are slumping by a ling shot as we may have cooled down a bit, expect us to raise the bar again very soon...

if you compare the way we've been playing for the past couple of weeks, as compared to games previous, I might agree that we're in kind of a slump. We're just good enough to get through it and still find ways to win. I hope this is the slump because every team goes through one, and we only have 15 games left to the regular season to get it out of the way.

baseball is a fickle game. you can't play at a dominant, beat everyone by 10+ runs every game pace all year. one bounce or a great pitching night can throw a wrench in your machine.

38-4, I think we're doing great for where we are. we have the opportunity to win 41 games before May...wow!
