To be honest, it would probably get flipped. That's how ridiculous it is there. That plus the garbage music. I did not go to listen to Colt Ford play some half rap/half something else music and have people throw bottled beers at me when he sings No Trash in My Trailer
I wouldn't ever think of bringing a kid there, and you could probably get CPS called on you for doing so. JABS will be bored and lonely w/o the chirrens

Hammertime
I've personally never been, but I know of plenty of people that have been, and I do not want to associate with any of those people. It really is the most white trash event that I can possibly imagine.
We were on the river the weekend after the event a few years ago and stopped at the beach across the river. The amount of trash, condoms, and beer cans on that beach was astonishing.

Lots of Youtube videos on this event. Maybe in my younger days. Too old for all that mess

Posted by Hammertime My buddy just asked if I wanted to go and my reply was a firm "Hell no" It is extremely dangerous, and for me that is saying a lot. I am a solid adrenaline junky and live on the edge when I do most things. Nothing scares me, but here is my assessment.... Normally at least one person dies every event. When I went, there was a group of people running around raping girls and pulling armed robberies. Once it got dark and we heard about that, we put all of the women and kids in the trucks and locked them in for the night. Didn't even want to chance them being in the camper. Cop presence is none. They had one at the gate and that was it. People driving humongous trucks can't see anything and drive around blipping the throttle everywhere. Almost got my F250 hit because someone couldn't see me from their truck. It is non-stop 4 wheelers blipping their throttles also. Made me hate four wheelers for a while. I am not sure why dickheads can't just hit the throttle and just go. Instead, they go wide open, then let off, then wide open again, and repeat 14 million times. Every single 4 wheeler rider does it there. They drive around like dickheads also. Had one cut two feet in front of me while I was driving and then we got into a fight because he said I tried to hit him. No parking. You won't be able to find anyone. $20/person unless you hide someone in the back. Wait in a 3 mile long line to get in that takes 2.5hrs to get through. Not counting the fight I got in within my first 15 minutes in the gate at 3pm, I saw around 20 fights before I went to bed. Don't expect to sleep. People will drive trucks right through your camp wide open and they do the same with 4 wheelers. I never thought I could have such a horrible time playing around in the mud. Basically like Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. I couldn't believe how ridiculous it was. About the only thing good was the women. Nothing else
I'm in!

That was for Mudfest in '11, right? That was the first/only time I went. Within 15 minutes of being there I watched a guy zoom by at about 40 on his 4 wheeler, standing up trying to grab a beer out the ice chest on his front rack. He somehow blipped the throttle/hit the brakes. It threw him forward and proceed to get run over by his own bike. He had to be hauled off in an ambulance. That incident let me know that the entire weekend was going to be a clusterfrick, and it was. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time but just know what you're getting into going it, and thats dealing with alot of idiots.
ETA: I had a blast watching people who were so willing to tear up their own trucks/atvs/SxS/etc. We'd ride from mudhole to mudhole, watch someone get stuck/break something, and leave before they could ask for our help. :lol
Also it was a fricking dust bowl. There's water trucks riding around to keep the dust down but they were practically useless. Next time we go I intend to come in the gate and head to the tree line on the right. No one camps there since it's so far from all the mud pits.

I've never been, but from what I've heard it's exactly like what that one guy said. And my buddies still go back every year, I don't know why.
I do here there a quite a few sets of tits to be seen, however

I imagine a bunch of fat chicks', meth chicks', and high schoolers' tits. I'll stay home and read about it on the Internet.

I am not one to shy away from a fight. Never have actually, but I don't want to be getting in them when I am just getting somewhere. At least let me chill for a second.
The armed robberies and rapes were the icing on the cake. Word made its way around and 10,000 necks grabbed their guns. People were even popping off shots every now and then. Never saw any cops in the two days I was there.
Yes it was also very dusty. I was cleaning red dirt out of my nose for a week. There were water trucks riding through every 12hrs, but it was negated by the 300 four wheelers following behind them ripping donuts the entire time he was spraying

That sounds like Katrina-type rumors. Did that shot really happen, or was it hearsay?

No, I've been to a race and it was at least somewhat civilized. Mudfest is not basically......it is fully a 100% free for all. Societal rules did not apply and that is the honest truth
Posted on 4/24/13 at 3:44 pm to Slickback
I was there that year and this is the first I hear of such a thing.
Posted on 4/24/13 at 3:45 pm to Slickback
I could hear and see people shooting. Not shootout type stuff, but shooting into the air. One of the event staff rode by and told us about the armed robberies and rapes happening
I wasn't prepared for it honestly. I thought it was gonna be something cool and a fun way to spend the weekend. IMHO, I would've been better off hungover on the couch
