Would you sign Andrew Bynum?

Knowing Bynum would not be available until around the All Star Break would you pull the trigger & sign Andrew Bynum.
Best Cast a Bynum & AD front line would be the best in the league.
Worst Cast he's always hurt

What's the price? Because definitely not at the price he's actually going to receive.

People keep saying this but are there really a line of teams wanting him at this point?

around 4 years 75 mill
We have plenty of room & I think we could move Gordon to Chicago for Deng. Which would give us fixability in Free Agency in 2014

He's too big of an injury risk. I wouldn't even sign him to a 1 year deal. If we're just going to piss away cap space for a year I'd rather take on bad expirings for assets.

He's the Randy Moss of the NBA. Greatly talented, but only plays when he wants.

Seriously, this is the NBA where owners tried to pass rules to protect themselves from overspending. Somebody will pay him a bunch of money.
That being said, I'd love to have Bynum as a Pelican...for the right price.

So we sign another injury prone player to a huge contract like Gordon? You can't take that risk in the rebuilding process, and if Gordon doesn't start playing like he's paid to or is not traded, he's going to begin to hold us back. We can't afford to have another player like that.
He'll go to a good team that can make the playoffs without him playing consistently. Then, they'll just make sure that he's healthy come playoff time, just like the Lakers always did with him.

No.
He's going to command too much for a guy who just missed an entire season and whose knees are supposed to be seriously fricked.
The long-term issues surrounding his knees are part of why I never liked the floated idea of trading CP3 for him, as I didn't want to end up totally fricked like Philly did this season.

1st: I'm pretty sure the max he could make is 4 yrs/$69.6M as a supermax, but he doesn't qualify as a supermax player. So, he'd only really be able to get the regular max salary (25% of the cap) or $14.5M per year (basically what Gordon got).
2nd: Assuming 4 yrs/$58M, no thanks.

I'd sign him for a 2 yr deal with a team option on the 2nd yr. However, you know some GM will give this guy 3-4 year max deal, so no thanks.

If that is the most he can get I truly think Dell will think about it

I really don't. That is a lot of money to spend on an immature a-hole with degenerate knees. Our fans whine that Gordon is an a-hole. Gordon has nothing on Bynum.

Yeah he's pretty much Eric Gordon with worse knees that plays center

$55 million over four years. The fourth year is a player option.
Do you do it?

I wouldnt go over two years for him honestly. The most I would be willing to sign him for is 2/20.

He has the ability to destroy a good team and improve a bad team. Its a gamble.
