This is the only GoT thread I've started. I tried to start the show thread last week but Carson beat me to it by seconds.
So is that the new GoT thread policy? Is it going to pop up earlier and earlier each week?

That's generally the way it works. Somewhere around episode 5 it will be started the minute the prior show ends.

eventually people will be so antsy that they will start the next episode's thread at the conclusion of the current week's thread

I wasn't planning on starting the middle thread until tomorrow afternoon, but once the other threads showed up my hand was forced.
