Malone was taken to replace Deng. Right now for next year it's...

1. Stringer
2. Courtney
3. Coleman
4. Hickey
5. JOB III
6. Hammink
7. Collins
8. Morgan
9. Martin
10. Mickey
11. Quarterman
12. Odo
13. Malone

So 1 of those guys wouldn't be with us next year if we take Bridgewater.

If Malone redshirts will he count against the rosters head count?

We do have a current player whose father is an international basketball superstar that happened to play basketball at LSU. Could he be willing to pay his own way?

Yes, it's 13 scholarships. Not roster spots.

Geert is the man!

I think Collins or Courtney are out if this is true. If I had to guess, I'd say Collins.

I honestly feel like if Courtney weren't coming back in some capacity, JOB wouldn't be coming back.

Would be a great addition IMO. I realize that he's limited by his size being only around 6'5" but that doesn't mean he can't be a great college contributor for our program if he chooses to come here. Coleman was a 10 and 6 guy for us this year and he's only 6'5". Not sure why Bridgewater can't have a similar impact at some point. Hell, with the guys coming back and the guys coming in, why would anyone balk at this addition if we're going to have another spot available.

Just to clear up something although it is very unlikely. You can sign to be a walk-on, there are preffered walk-ons that have every thing the team gets and stay where they stay, just "pay" their own way. Though I say it is very unlikely for BB because he has other offers that are decent, I would assume ULL, ULL, and possibly La tech have offered? I also think Tulane would be wise to have gotten him, but Conroy doesn't really recruit in-state guys except a kid from Northshore HS this year.

Just my 2 cents, would love to have as a walk-on but do not think he is any better than anybody we currently have.

I don't think it would be as a walk-on. Not sure how we make room for him. My guess would be collins but that is based on nothing but pure speculation.

I hope he comes I've watched the kid play for years he can be a nice part of the puzzle for us. Prob a four year contributor.

His cousin, who I work with, says he's a much better player than Brad. Brad just has height on Brian

I heard that segment on the radio today. It was Ponamsky saying that he now hears that it will happen. They said that our recruitment of bigs and JOB's return closed the deal, because Bridgewater wasn't going to come to LSU if he had to play the 4. He knows that his size means that if he is ever to play in the NBA, it will have to be as a 2, and he wouldn't have any chance to develop those skills if were stuck down low banging with bigs.

My how things have changed. I remember a few years back, people were saying "well, gathers would be a huge get, but Trent HAS to land bridgewater".

This is exactly why I think following recruiting is ridiculous.

It's true. Things change too often and there's no consistency.

I get it if you don't follow recruiting. But this statement makes it sound exciting to be honest

So if it were consistent and static, there would be no reason to follow it.

Man it would be such a good business to tell everyone what their class would be 2 years ahead of time every year.

Would certainly put a lot of guys out of business.

Certainly be easier on the fans though.

Bridge can't play like Coleman, so no.
