All these anniversary threads got me to thinking.

For Def Leppard fans who will be out West, there a still a few dates on the "VIVA! Hysteria" series in Vegas, although I'm not going to be able to make it.

The album didn't move until Sugar was released. As a Def Leppard fan since at least 1982 (pre-Pyromania, at least), I was not as stoked about Sugar as many were - but it brought a whole new group of fans to band. For a brief period of time there, they were, arguably, the biggest rock band in the world.

Good times...

At the time of the Pyromania "cassette" days, it was one of only 3 cassettes in my Olds Omega that I played for a year straight. Don't want to mention the other 2. It was great then but I can't hardly listen to them anymore. I got burnt out as you can imagine with only 3 cassettes. Poor man I was.

My son, who will be 26 in June, would stop whatever he was doing and run (toddle) towards the TV when MTV would play this song (at almost the same time daily when the video was their #1 vid of the week).

I remember being about five years old with a hand help radio to my ear blaring PSSOM. I was born in 83'
Do I think it's a great song? No. But it brings me back to a time and place still, all these years later.

I loathe that album with everything I have and hope to God that I never hear any song off that album again. There are very few artists or albums I cannot listen too. This one however, tops my list of "Can't Stand". The worst part was it hung around being overplayed for more than 365 days. You literally(looking at you literallypolice) could not avoid any song off that album being played. I remember it being released around the fall of '87 and it started losing momentum until the summer of '88 when the most annoying fricking song ever recorded made it to No. 1. Pour some Sugar on Me.

Saw them on their Hysteria tour way back then. Tesla opened for them here in Bham. Love Tesla too, but I was very underwhelmed by their live performance. Def Leppard rocked it though.
