Who is the best college QB you have ever witnessed play?

I think it's no brainer for me. At one time Tebow would run away with this honor but for me it's Cam Newton. Of course JFF might be worthy of consideration but if everyone takes off their sunglasses then Cam is easily the best QB we've ever seen in college football (no offense to Peyton)

ETA: You don't have to have seen them in person. Seeing them on TV etc. is the criteria.

In person??

If so it would be between Big Ben, Tebow, and Wuerffel.

I don't think OP means in person. Maybe I'm wrong.

are we talking for an entire season, or entire college career, or for just one game in college?

Vince Young. Cam is a close second.

This might sound homerish but I would say Jamarcus Russell. In college the guy would shrug off tackles and extend the plays to get the ball off, and when he threw, it looked so effortless. For three years I was in awe of his talent. Now I just shake my head given how his pro career has panned out, but in college I was excited to see what he could do in every single game.

Between Tebow and Newton. I wish we could have seen another year or two of Cam at Auburn.

It was Tebow for me until I went on the road to see LSU play Auburn in 2010 and watched Cam Newton run for like 220 and Auburn put up around 600 yards of total offense. This included his "heisman moment" when he outran/dragged Patrick Peterson into the endzone. This was against one of the best defenses LSU has ever fielded. Mo Claiborne, Tyrann Mathieu, Nevis, Sheppard..

So yea, I agree with you. Newton hands down.

Glad that he was already listed. When I first saw this thread title I thought of Tommy Frazier. Of course, Cam Newton had a great season, but Frazier ran that team longer. He was incredible.

To this day, those Nebraska teams of the mid 90's were the best college football teams I ever saw.
