You're going to be surprised at how Ark will make your PC feel sluggish when you set all the eye candy on high. They've got a lot of optimizing on that game left to do yet. Still so much fun though.

My Logitech G930's cracked again on the left ear cup. Purchased the Sennheiser G4ME ONE's and a sound blaster Z card that should get here tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how that sounds.

It's insane how much DDR4 has come down in price over the last few weeks. I didn't think it would drop this much this fast.
You can get 16GB of G.Skill 4 series 3000MHz for $134.99 now. 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz is $149.99.

Thank the Intel overlords for driving down the price.

Looking for a new office/gaming chair for under $500. What is the top of the line in this price range?
Maxnomic or DX Racer?
Current Pick

Thought you'd be looking at Herman Miller chairs. Most of them start in the $1k range I think, but I've seen the Aerons go for $500-600. It's the programmer's brand of choice.

Yeah - just a couple of months ago, 2666mhz was the sweet spot - by the time 6700k is actually in stock - where human beings can actually buy them - I'll be looking at max speeds for the motherboard (probably).

My M7 board goes up to 3600, in which NewEgg sells one set and they're $399 for 8GB and $799 for 16GB.
16GB of 3400 can be had for $320.
16GB of 3200 can be had for $155-170, sweet spot.

I've found that the supported memory speed listings on motherboards mean very little for Intel CPUs ever since the memory controller became integrated.
someone will buy it, too.
Right now it looks like DDR4-3000 CL15 is the best value. That and 3200 CL16 are the same speed.

I need to train Cortana to recognize my voice instead of everyone's voices. Apparently this happened last night while the TV was on:

LOL.
It's still pretty buggy that's for sure, it will randomly do a google search when I'm talking to a friend through voice, even though I never say anything close to Hey Cortana or Cortana, and usually it's in game which is pretty damn annoying.

So my performance, especially while playing games, has been suffering lately and I finally restarted the computer only to have it fail to boot up. it would automatically go to the BIOS menu due to a CPU overheating error. In BIOS the CPU temp said it was 88 degrees Celsius. It's a 3770k, not overclocked or anything, with a Corsair H100i. One of the hoses on the H100i running from the CPU to the fans at the top of the case was considerably warmer than the other one.
Tips? What should I look for or what do I need to do? It's only been doing this the past few days and the overheating error popped up for the first time today, so whatever the problem is I think I caught it early. Want to figure out what to do so I don't wind up blowing my CPU or something.
ETA: After waiting a while for it to cool down I have it running and it's sitting at ~50 degrees (ranging from 48-52 with a high of 54 so far).

I'm certainly not an expert on cooling or overclocking, but why would you liquid cool a non-overclocked CPU?

Maybe. You've got to do some "chicken or the egg" analysis - is there, maybe a damaged component in the system allowing the CPU to overheat - or is the problem in the CPU iteself?
It may not be the cooling solution -

I think that's how coolers are supposed to work - take the hot away, bring the cool in - I could be wrong about that, though.
