I'm still trying to figure out his numbers in 2001
10-2 record with a 6.02 ERA

The weenies just got beat by a very very bad UNO team. At home. I don't want to see Jones run off, his teams are now our punching bag. Mabe the magic has worn off his "socks".

I hope that he stays for a long time.Book it,Tulane fans and supporters hate LSU.Talk to any Old Tigers from New Orleans about it.They tried to stop the Tigers from playing in Sugar Bowls. When Dale Browns Tigers went to sweet 16 in New Orleans they were the host school. They open the Dome for all teams to practice, except LSU;they said they "forgot".I could go on and on.They hate LSU,and pull for anyone LSU plays.By the way,Daddy Dale called Bro Martin and the Crusaders opened their gym for LSU to practice.

Jones has needed to go for a while. Katrina and the new transfer rules have killed him. They have been victimized by injury for a while but there is no reason they should be in the situation they are now.

rising cost of tuition
I was surprised to hear how much tution is now, 67K per year isn't worth it. LSU is a much better deal, even without TOPS

RJ is probably very sorry he turned down the Ga.Tech job. He'd be in a decent conference with only a few true baseball programs to compete against, and the tuition would not be such a burden, tho I am sure Ga.Tech is not cheap. On the other hand, this could not happen to a better person. He & Robichaux at ULLLLL hated LSU with a passion. The year that the weenies eliminated LSU from the Super Regional, Skip walked over & spoke to the weenies & not only wished them well, he told them they had what it took to win in Omaha. The day RJ would ever do that to an LSU team would be a cold day in hell.

Probably not, he could have had the Duke job last year if he wanted it. Probably a job he would like even more being from NC

I know a baseball player offered one of the legislative scholarships. Forgive me if I have the name incorrect. In other words it's offered by one of the state elected officials. It covers tuition. That still leaves 16-17 K a year to attend Tulane. There are still costs tacked on to the tuition plus room and board. It's around 59K a year to go there. Compare that to LSU. Tulane is a good school but its not even a top 30-40 school nationally. Only the very rich can go there. Either that or you are walking out with huge student loans.

In the past, they've given those to the New Orleans area kids, who could live at home. The 11.7 can then be spread around to out-of-state kids. As a result, they were able to offer more money to their "superstar" recruits as well.
When there was the big "expose'" on the legislative scholarship, a new system was put in place where every "award" has to go before a board. This essentially eliminated the preferential treatment that certain Tulane-baseball-friendly politicians used to fill the Tulane roster. Rick Jones (and Brockhoff before him) actually recruited using the Legislative Scholarship.

Here they are
The guys from New Orleans(Barrios,Dimaggio and Braud) suck. Besides Napoli and I don't think much was expected from him, but he became very good.
