The owners are pocketing the revenue sharing money without putting any of it back into the club. Sure they supposedly have these great prospects coming up but given how the owners are behaving right now how do we know they won't just sell them off to the Yankees and Dodgers right before they have to pay them?

Whats the point of funneling money to overpay has beens? Just take your lumps for a few years and rebuild.

The Astros have a lot of prospects in the pipeline. Will they ever amount to anything? Who knows.

$25 million payroll doesn't give any Astro fan any warm and fuzzies. This could very well be another 100-loss team.

Am I excited about next Sunday night? Hells yeah! I'll be in Section 127, Row 15, Seat 9 rocking out with my cock out, screaming until I get a headache and then screaming some more. This is why you're a sports fan. Sometimes you're the pre-season favorite, sometimes you're riding on nothing but blind faith.

I never thought I'd see the Saints win a Super Bowl, but it happened. I just hope I can see the 'Stros win a World Series before I die. Maybe there was a reason I paid $1,082.50 for a Game 4 Nosebleed to see the W-Sox dogpile. Maybe I'll get to take my son to the 2019 World Series where the 'Stros will be victorious!

Also, I'm happy the Astros are out of the boring NL Central! Out of a division with the armpit cities of the US like Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and St Louis.

I'm excited to start a 19-game a year rivalry with the Texas Rangers. I'm excited about the late night West Coast games. I'm excited to be an Astros fan.

Geaux 'Stros!!!

They should aspire to be as good as the Royals and Pirates. There is a pretty good chance that they will end up owning all the MLB records for ineptitude, taking over from the expansion Mets and other horrible teams from the past. What puzzles me is how they draw any fans at all. I think you could stump any baseball fan by asking them to name at least 3 of their players on this team. Maybe they will draw fans this year just for the new AL teams coming in, since they let Herr Selig stick it up their backside.

We don't. We also don't know that if they did spend a bunch of money they wouldn't be like the Mets?

Also, why do people think not spending the money now meand pocketing it and not saving money so they can pay their young guys if they pan out later?

Depends if the Astros want to be cheap or not. Royals don't want to spend money, pissing the fans off.
